Monday 11 December 7.30 - 8pm ITV1

When Michelle (Kym Ryder) finds Violet (Jenny Platt) not looking too well in the toilets at the Rovers, she assumes that her fellow barmaid is nursing a hangover. But when Violet strenuously denies that alcohol is the cause of her woes, Michelle jokes that if it's not a hangover then she must be pregnant. A worried Violet tries to deny the claim but the look on her face is all the evidence Michelle needs. She urges Violet to take a pregnancy test. Will the test confirm Violet's worst fears?

A disgruntled Charlie (Bill Ward) sets off to work after berating Tracy (Kate Ford) on the state of her housekeeping efforts. But Tracy's laziness is all just part of her complex plan to wind Charlie up and when the bully boy builder returns home early, hoping to have his wicked way with her, Tracy spurns his advances. Tired of
Tracy's strange behaviour, Charlie tells his stunned girlfriend that they are over; he wants to split up. Will the cunning Tracy be able to talk her boyfriend around?

Meanwhile, Jamie (Rupert Hill) stuns the Connor brothers when he arranges a meeting at the factory. Believing they are about to discover Danny's (Bradley Walsh) whereabouts they are shocked when Jamie announces that before his father disappeared, he gave his share of the factory to his son. Will Liam (Rob James - Collier) and Paul (Sean Gallagher) accept their so called new business partner or will they force Jamie to provide more evidence of his inheritance?

Elsewhere, Audrey (Sue Nicholls) and Bill (Peter Armitage) continue to cause embarrassment to their families, and Claire (Julia Haworth) continues to play into Tracy's hands as she once again expresses concern for he neighbour's well being?

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by Mark Wadlow, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Duncan Foster. Coronation Street is made by ITV Productions.

First Episode

Monday 11 December 8.30 - 9pm ITV1

Tracy (Kate Ford) is worried that her cunning plan is at risk after Claire (Julia Haworth) sees her and Charlie (Bill Ward) `happy' together in the pub. In a desperate bid to reignite Claire's concern, she scalds herself with a hot iron. Always the opportunist, Tracy screams with pain when she notices Claire in the garden, knowing that caring Claire will hurry over to help her. Tracy's scheming is successful as Claire instantly believes that Charlie has attacked her and insists on taking her to the medical centre. Over at the clinic Tracy continues to make herself look like an innocent victim. While acting traumatized, they nearly bump into Charlie and she is forced to seek refuge at Claire's. Tracy knows she has her
right where she wants her. Claire now believes that Tracy is a victim of mental and physical abuse at the hands of Charlie, but will she keep it to herself?

Over at the Rovers, Violet (Jenny Platt) has discovered that she is in fact pregnant and decides on a termination. Michelle (Kym Ryder) offers to go with Violet to the Clinic and tells Liz (Beverley Callard) that she has an appointment at the hospital so that Liz doesn't suspect Violet. As Violet waits anxiously in the clinic, Michelle urges her to tell Jamie (Rupert Hill) about the baby. Meanwhile, back at the pub, Liz becomes suspicious about Michelle's appointment at the clinic and, as soon as the girls return, accuses Michelle of being pregnant! Violet remains uneasy all day, will she tell Jamie about the baby? Will she even go ahead with the abortion?

On the other side of the bar, Gail (Helen Worth) has joined Bill (Peter Armitage) and Audrey (Sue Nicholls) for a drink. Despite her earlier opinions of him she begins to enjoy his company and doesn't object when Audrey invites him to spend Christmas with them, how will the Websters take this news?

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by Peter Whalley, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Duncan Foster. Coronation Street is made by ITV Productions.

Rather a disappointing start for tonight's double helping.

Is Jamie really so thick as to believe that a few words scribbled on a piece of paper would give him Danny's flat, Danny's car & his share in Underworld? I really do hope that they don't drag this particular story thread out as neither Jamie nor the Connor's have the presence or personality to make it required viewing.

The ridiculous Charlie / Tracy / Claire storyline carried on. "I don't believe a word of it" said Claire to Ashley when Toxic had told her that she'd been up all night with Amy.
That's 'cos she's lying love!
However Claire's suspicions can't have been that deeply grounded because by the second hlaf of the episode she was prepared to believe that a few seconds viewing of Charlie & Tracy in The Rovers must mean that everything was ok & all was well with the world. Sloppy scripting or what?

Violet's pregnancy storyline started & this was delivered well enough. Of course it will only start to get really interesting once Jamie finds out Violet is expecting his baby & Violet finds out that Jamie is making the Beast With Two Backs with Stepmum Frankie.

Without a doubt the best scene came from Kevin, Sally & Gail as Kevin firmly told the two women that Audrey & Bill's affair was nothing to do with anyone else & that the two of them were old enough to look after themselves & make their own decisions. At last someone's talking sense.

However, this wasn't enough to raise the episode any higher than a.....4 and a half out of 10.

Do do dooooooooo! Tracey is acting the unhinged doolally - but I suppose she is the type of character to harbour such a grudge and allow it to fester and turn her rancid.. well, you know, more rancid than usual. Such a lot of effort to culminate in something much worse...

Why was Sawfie, or Rawsie, can never remember which one is which, going on about Vincent Sinclair and Dulcie Froggat?

Far too much of the ridiculous Tracy,Charlie & Claire storyline, can't take much more of this.

Liked Jamie scenes with Sean & the Connors about his heritance bid & Violet & Michelle scenes.Liked how Michelle played on Liz thinking she was the one pregnant!

Has Claire ditched the glasses for good then? No wonder she can't see what Tracey's up to.

Slightly better than the first, although not upto the high standards that Peter Whalley is capable of.

The Vince St. Clair / Dulcie Froggatt stuff from Sawfie was ok, although I still think that this storyline would have worked better if Sawfie had found one of Sally's old diaries. Anyway, it was nice to get a couple of mentions of the past & to see Jack's reaction when the name of his old girlfriend was mentioned.

There was a nice performance from Jenny Platt as Violet who looked totally at sea with the course that her life had suddenly taken. I liked her reaction to Jamie coming into the bar. The scene with Michelle winding Steve & Liz up about being pregnant was also good.

The Paul / Liam / Carla stuff wasn't anything special. I'm hoping that one of these characters developes sufficiently enough to have the sort of screen presence that Johnny Briggs (Mike Baldwin) had but, at the moment, it's hard to believe that any of them could keep the "factory girls" in line on a consistent basis.

And then, of course, we had the continuation of the Charlie / Tracy / Claire saga. We're not meant to belive that Claire was suspicious about Charlie, but, having witnessed Charlie & Tracy in The Rovers suddenly did an about-turn & was sure that all was well in their world again. Then, she does another about turn & is so sure that Charlie has been abusing Toxic that she almost forces her to confess what has been going on. Not the best scripted storyline in the show's history.
Kate Ford's acting when Tracy "broke down" & started "crying" was woeful but the later stuff when she was telling Claire that she wanted to give Charlie one more chance was the best stuff we've had from KF in weeks. In fact it was almost acting!

5 and a half out of 10.

I only saw the second episode, but I thought it was decent enough. This Tracy/Charlie story is going round in circles slightly, but I'm still intrigued to see how it runs.

Loved Surfie teasing Jack - in fact she's a natural comedy performer and always makes me laugh.

Violet has always been an enigma for me. She has the makings of a great character, but has long been left festering in the background while her co-stars trake the limelight. I'd like to see her character fleshed out a bit more - I still feel that we don't know enough about her. I'd also like to see her stand up to her fellas. Corrie is famed for its strong women; let's see Violet become one of them!

An interesting ********* free double episode.

I am very concerned about Claire being concerned

I enjoyed the scenes between Violet and Michelle Marsh. A nice bit of girl bonding

Charlie knows what's going on but he's too sure of himself to just kick her out.

Jamie really really needs to see a solicitor pronto.

It's not often I pick up an a continuity error but did anyone notice, I think it was in the first episode, after Tracy poured milk on her cereal and the camera cut to Charlie by the front door, the amount of milk had reduced by half when we saw the table again!

the thing that gets me about last nights episode is when claire and ashley saw tracy and charile all loved up and all over each other and claire thought everything must be ok between them again, but later on tracy was back to her old ways of making claire believe her that she is being abused and beat up whithout a seconds thought on what she saw of them in the pub eariler all loved up! wouldn't she think their was something fishy going on?

also when claire came in the pub she stopped being all over charile, and when she rushed round after tracy screamed to charile about being burnt by the iron and charile wasn't their, wouldn't she think that was also fishy!

claire has semmed to forgot about tracy being wicked and evil!

Yes, and what's wrong with Violet? This pregnant minger looks like a hamster, at the moment? Perhaps it's all those hormones.
