How do I contact the administrator to change my username?

I'm sick of my username and I want to change it, but apparently I'm stuck with it unless I can convince the administrator I have a good reason to change it. But how do I contact the administrator in the first place? I'm sure he must be a busy man!

Can't you just register with a new name and start over?

I guess you have to prove the change is justified. Do you have any witnesses you could call on that could support your claim that your user name is no longer appropriate. How long have you been faking them exactly?

Apparently not. I looked under FAQ and it says you're stuck with your username for life, unless you can convince the administrator you have a good reason for changing it. If I'd KNOWN that to start with I wouldn't have chosen such a silly name.

Sorry!

It's just that your username is actually quite funny.

Why don't you pretend that your posts are not being taken seriously due to the nature of your username. That may convince the adminstrator.

What alternatives are you thinking of, out of curiosity?

(Also, I fear a padlock may be coming as this thread is non-SCD related.)

The administrator may ask you to prove your claim, this could become costly, Hotel rooms, travel costs etc, might be a good idea to just start over,

Alternativly if you post something really offensive they will contact you to slap your wrists this may give you the opening you need to get a contact who can change your name, (not that i think offensive posting is big or clever!)

Wake a minute. Wasn't Fakenham (your location) that town where some old woman got sold a duff ticket for SCD?

On a serious note, maybe you could cheat a bit by getting yourself a new email address (this is usually dead easy and can run alongside whichever email address you normally use) then register under - say - your maiden name. I certainly wouldn't advocate lying (as I don't want to get banned), but maybe that would work.

Are you trying to take Kitten's advice?

If you are I think you need to try harder, CRETIN isn't really that offensive in fact it's quite a sweet word - or am I just Fakin???

On the FAQ bit, it says contact the adminstrator using the Contact Us button. I may be being really dumb, but where is this magic button?

Edit: Doh- just spotted it!

Use this

(There is even a username change request option so can't be that hard!)

I'm faking my anger. If I was really angry I would use words a lot stronger than cretin. Shappy - you KNOW I'm only joking.

Tsk. The reason I want to change my username is not because it's no longer accurate (i.e. because I have started faking em - I HAVEN'T) but I just want a new SENSIBLE username.

Maybe if you tell us what you plan to change it to, then people can judge whether you should keep or change.

Good point. You don't want to choose something you'll regret in future.
