Maybe Cretin is a clue. That's the new username.

I don't really pay that much attention to people's usernames - I see the name and see the comment, but I don't spend much time thinking about why people are called what they are called.

I do feel for you, but it is SOOOO FUNNY

Now you get me wonder why people choose their usernames. It's quite interesting actually.

Some of them are obvious - actual name, birthday, someone's fan, where they live...

I am assuming I-don't-fake-'em's name is as the name suggests?

Anyone up for sharing? Will start here myself: I am small, and my ex used to call me 'Hobbit'. Hobbit -> Frodo -> Frodora. So there.

That's cute Frodora, I did wonder as it does sound like Frodo. Perhaps a fellow LOTR fan or am I reading too much into it lol? I chose Coronis because it means Crow; I like to think of myself as one frequently in some of my posts.... random bit: its the name of an lady in greek mythology. which I like.

Aww that's nice, too Coronis! I was not really sure whether you were a lady or gentleman but this clears it up!

Not exactly a LOTR fan - more a a Harry Potter fan! I call a friend of mine Hagridiana (or Hags for short) - she is a six-footer so you can see where the name comes from!

You can't use yahoo, Hotmail or any of the free accounts. It has to be your providers e mail... Tiscali. AOL etc. Now, I know that we were allowed 2 accounts on ours. My hubby had one and I had the other. if you are only using one, could you use the other as well and pick a name you like as a user name? I'm sorry I'm not putting this very well! Anyway, best of luck

I love this thread! Just shows how we can discuss anything.

Can't think why you can't change your user name but be careful you don't suffer an identity crisis. Will everyone know who you are anymore?

I do think everyone joining DS should be warned to think carefully about their user name. I know I kept trying different names and they were all taken so I just fiddled about with my real name and address but wish I'd thought about it a bit more.
