i thought episode two was great...

the only problem i had was there was SO little task material shown it was just ridiculous. i mean, the task was over by the 20th minute of 40...

Spoiler
sad to see carey go, no matter how gross those pants were!

heidi looks like she's getting pretty comfortable up there, doesn't she??

oh, and trump: 'i've got a great body...seriously'. was he kidding, or what??

I've found that a lot with the US version, they spend a LOT less time looking at the actual task and prefer for some reason to watch the boardroom stuff for longer and longer.
I'm about to watch ep 2 now.

I enjoyed episode 2 but can't help but feel the gobs are staying and the real business minds are geting kicked out.

Also its totally pointless having the PM of the winning team in the boardroom

Episode 2 was quite good. I'm agreed we didn't see nearly enough of the task! I think they should shave a bit of time of the boardroom scenes instead.

And I didn't think the pants were that bad actually.

those pants were th worst thing i've ever seen aghh! I can't BELIEVE they actually used them, and then carey wore them, probably because the models refused. ahahaha. I agree, pointless having the pm of the winning team in the boardroom. Also I don't really like the changes, I don't like the winner staying on and all that... Next week, the winning team dont have to do a task? How's that going to work? Is the loosing one going to be split in two? Does it mean the team that won this week automatically loose and go outside? :S aghh.
Episode was okay, but boardroom is a bit snore after a while, I agree they need to spend more time on the TASKS pleaseeeee!!!!

Apprentice: Ivanka Trump just gets worse

How cheesy was the HH reward?!

Very interested to see how they do next week. Will someone from the winning team have to join Arrow to allow there to be two equal groups for the task? If so, maybe Heidi or Marisa after her outburst this week

omg Don Jr. is such a creep! and ivanka is just weird! christ, the whole trump organisation creeps me out...the fact trump is 60 and has just had a baby.

eeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...

as for the episode:

Spoiler
i knew something felt a bit weird, when they only went into the boardroom 31 minutes in. too bad for michelle, who would have been fired anyway. the trumps sure didn't like her for quitting though, did they??

new favourite: nicole. love the gobby ones!
Jamie181

Yeah, Michelle pretty much jumped before she was pushed.

I thought Trump let her off quite lightly actually. Reminded me of the time when Adele quit from the UK series, and Alan Sugar saw right through her. Trump seemed to buy all her crappy excuses.

Frankly I liked that Michelle pretty much told Trump to his face that the whole show is ridiculous -- I just wish she'd had a little more conviction when she said it.

She would've been fired, but I loved that she quit and there was the potential for someone else to get fired for real

I really really hate Donald Trump, but can't seem to stop watching! I like Ivanka, but Don Jr? Seriously, he looks and sounds so pompous -- a total creep!

Agree totally.

I was disappointed with the fact that the other three weren't fired, as they were all awful - even Tim who I thought had potential.

Aaron's team wasn't much better, in fact Aaron or Stefani are the only candidates on Arrow who have a slight chance of winning.

I only know about 4 people on Kinetic though cos they've been winning so much

Hrm.. Episode 2... anyone else start wondering if that was homophobic on Trumps part? I do hope I'm wrong. Doesn't he have a history of bringing up sexuality in the board room before? I don't think I've ever seen such a one sided, direct assault on a contestant. He did well to defend himself, but shesh, Trump seemed to have an agenda. His Daugher clearly doesn't have any gay friends going on her "I know no one who would wear that" comment.
jonnythemoose
27-01-2007
no, i just think it was obvious carey was advocating homosexuality, so it was relevant to ask him. yet at the same time, it's none of trump's business.

not homophobia, though. in my opinion...
Jamie181
27-01-2007
I didn't really think Trump was being homophobic in this instance, he was just trying to probe the reasons behind the choices he made. Carey was catering towards a niche market which would realistically probably be a gay one. He made a bad choice, and definitely DESERVED to get fired.

However, at the same time I can't ever really see Trump really hiring a gay candidate. I remember in S3 one of the people (Chris?) made some homophobic comments in the boardroom, and Trump didn't seem to mind. We'll have to see how the other openly gay person fares (Derek I think his name was...?)

Seen Episode 4...

Spoiler
HOW obvious do they make it as to who is getting fired? i mean seriously, in the boardroom at the end, who on earth would have thought either heidi or aimee had a chance at being fired?

the ONLY person that had any real chance of getting fired this whole episode was marisa...and surprise, surprise, it was her!

i really felt sorry for her as well

anyway, what was i gonna say? oh yeah, once again, the task seemed to last like, 8 minutes, out of 40, yet again. it's so frustrating! has it been like this in series 4 and 5, or is it just a recent development? i didn't notice it being like this in the first three series...

I am not enjoying this season 6 at all. Watched the first 4 and it's just so tripe compared to our UK version. Won't be bothering with the rest now, just waiting for Sir Alan to come back on. "Quite frankly, I'd like to get rid of the bleedin' three of yer" and such hilarious quips.

The wrong person definitely got fired this week. The Central point of the "chickens" was crucial. As "the English guy" said, people walking past would not know of any promotion going on, they needed someone/something outside.

bullshit.

I do feel like a bit of chicken. Hmmmmmmmmm.
bananaman_007
29-01-2007
Yeah but come on chickens outside a chicken resturant, if it was KFC in this country and there was a guy in a chicken suit outside i would not be anymore interested.

I do angree the marketing could have been better and Marissa was "thrown under the bus".

I agree the show is getting far to much Survivor ish, i want to see more of the task. I was shocked that the losing team was that close behind, as what little of them was shown they never had anybody in the resturant. I also think they had the better product
ThePulse

Totally agree with all the criticism of Season 6 so far -- episode 4 was a JOKE -- the task was barely seen, and what little was shown made it COMPLETELY obvious which team was going to win and who was going home.

I actually paused the episode right when they were (very abruptly) walking into the boardroom in their Pollo Loco outfits, and it was just under 20mins in.

I was really irked when Trump shouted at them to take off their hats because they were indoors. I mean they were more than likely TOLD to keep their hats on, thus inviting Trump to appear all powerful and ordering them off.

Marisa was shown to be really annoying, but it was such a brief, slanted view of the task that it was really hard to tell if she really was that bad. Plus she dug her own grave in the boardroom by not letting people speak.

The season so far is such a load of BS -- I still don't know anything about most of the contestants (the ones who get all the screentime keep going home!), Trump is incredibly annoying and all the fake business stuff just seems even more ridiculous and fake since the move to LA.

Just awful -- roll on Apprentice UK!

The boardroom door opened 18 minutes and 55 seconds into the episode I watched which was 40 minutes long.
It's decent telly but Apprentice UK blows it out of the water!

Glad everyone else is thinking the same as me...I mean, I wouldn't have minded it as much if Aimee had even been mentioned in the series, before the boardroom of Episode 4, - (I mean, I hadn't even noticed she was there in the first three episodes, let alone in this task), but the fact that they made no attempt to hide the outcome of the episode just riled me. It was quite clear Aimee was going nowhere. They should have at least focussed a bit of footage on her during the task, rather than other things in the episode, such as the reward. (Seriously, is that important at all??)

And they wonder why the ratings are slipping!

I completely skipped passed Andrea Bocelli and the fireworks -- waste of screentime altogether!

The problem moving forward now is that we STILL don't know very much about Aimee, even in the boardroom there wasn't much focus on her - except to show Marissa talking across her.

exactly, pulse. To be honest, despite the first three episodes being heavily focussed on them, we don't know THAT much about Arrow Corp, you know, James, Tim...Stefani haven't really be shown that much. Never mind Kinetic corp, where people such as Jenn, Aimee, Kristine, Angela, Derek and Muna have barely had two words to say.

NOTE: There will be NO airing of 'The Apprentice' this coming Sunday (4th February) in America, due to the 'Superbowl'.

Just to save you all searching the torrents next Monday!

Aww shucks -- there's no Donald for next Monday?

I actually couldn't name most of the people on Kinetic apart from Heidi and Muna (cos she actually spoke in the boardroom in the last episode). All the rest I know vaguely what they look like (large gay guy for example), but the blonde girls (apart from the Olympic athlete)...there's Aimee and....another 1/2 but I couldn't be sure!

Also, since I forgot to say it before -- I thought Heidi has done a much better job on the Trump advisor side than Aaron did! (It is Aaron right?)
jonnythemoose
01-02-2007
Yeah, I agree, Pulse. Heidi was fantastic, she really filled the role well. She'll be around a while

Aaron was rubbish though. He barely said two words; Trump even commented on this.

Although to be honest, I believe I'd be too nervous to say anything, as well!

I didn't think Marisa deserved to get fired at all. She got it right when she said in the boardroom that it was a complete ambush. I'm still not sure what she actually did wrong. Trumps reasoning sucked - she got fired just because everyone else wanted her to be fired, NOT because of her performance on the task!

But the problem was that there wasn't enough of the task shown to make any other possibilities for firing except for her. It's all getting very annoying now.
