i remember the days when it was possible about 5 people could have been fired...

I just watched episode 4 and read over the thread and completely agree on what everyone is saying about too much time being given to the boardroom. It's also starting to annoy me now that it's becoming so obvious about 10 mins into each episode which teams going to win.

Starting to think Heidi's maybe a bit cold and calculating now, I liked her all the other episodes but this episode I just got an icy vibe off her.

Marisa shouldn't have been fired but in the boardroom she just kept talking over everyone and mentioning the chickens, she should've said more about the name suggestion and other suggestions she had that weren't taken onboard instead all we heard was two chickens and interstate.

BTW does anyone know when the UK series 3 apprentice is coming? I remember reading in the paper a while ago it was Feb/March but after searching there I haven't found a definite date.

Yeah, I've gone off her too. I liked her initally because she reminded me of Charlotte from SATC, but that episode I was secretly hoping she'd get fired.

Any early predictions on who the Apprentice might be? I'm thinking Stefani based on the edits she's been getting, and the fact that I think it's time for another female winner.

I'd like Heidi to win, but I think the edit is starting to go against her.

What's the Olympic athlete called? She has hardly featured at all since the introductions!

Is Stefani the husky-voiced one, or the one with the long hair that did a really good job on the tour bus? I like both of them, but I don't think either is a winner.

Stefani is the one that was on the tour bus. She hasn't featured hugely but she's not been totally invisible unlike some of the others. Seems like the quietly efficent type.

It's pretty easy to eliminate those who are probably NOT gonna get hired. There's the invisible ones (all the blonde girls from Kinetic). If they're not being shown in the edit I'm guessing it's probably because they aren't gonna be a major part of the series. Then there's the loud obnoxious type (Frank, Nicole), and the eccentric type (James, Surya) who stand virtually no chance either. Take all those away and your only left with a few.

Plus she's a lawyer so she's probably quite good in the boardroom.

Just seen all four episodes.

Yep, I agree that nearly not enough time is given to showing the tasks. Episode in 4 - damn we barely saw any of the task. Too much time devoted to boardroom shenanigans.

I didn't like that Marissa went, too much of an ambush for me.

I thought episode 4 was a real improvement in quality over the previous 3, mainly because Sean proved to be an excellent boardroom judge.

As I said before, this is the great thing about the winning PM being in the boardroom - Trump gets to see their decision making process, and Heidi shone more than Aaron.

I thought that it was rubbish though that Trump had more or less decided that Heidi was safe. She was the PM and was culpable. Marisa had to go, she was an absolute mess and had one terrible idea

Not necessarily. I thought that the winner of series 3, series 1 and the winner of Apprentice Martha were all a bit under the radar/quiet in the early episodes.

At this stage I would only rule out Frank, Nicole, James and Derek from winning the whole thing

Well, it's just guess work really. Obviously I can't say for sure, but I'd be surprised if one of the blondes suddenly rose to be a major contender. I haven't seen Season 1, but at least I was made aware of Kendra's presence for the early episodes of her season, unlike some of the Kinetic girls.

Amie did start to feature a bit more on the last episode, but she seemed quite weak in the boardroom, so that makes me think she won't last. I also think the edit is going against Heidi. Aaron seems a bit too young and immature. And Surya seems too bumbling and eccentric to be a real contender.

I agree that Frank, Nicole and James are definitely out of the running. Interesting you mention Derek though, is that solely because he's gay?

Agree with Jamie. Kendra wasn't invisible to the point that the likes of the Kinetic girls are, but then again she wasn't featured heavily, either.

As for Dawna, winner of Apprentice MS, she really WAS under the radar. But once again, not as much as the Kinetic girls. She still got face time, even if she didn't say much

Not solely. I didn't think he was impressive in marketing either, and doesn't seem like the leader type. However, I don't see him fitting with Trump, and maybe some of that is because he is gay. If you remember, Trump reacted very strangely in series 4 when he found out that Clay was gay, and I reckon DT could be a bit homophobic.

Surya has a chance IMO, but he could go either way - he could be brilliant or a disaster.

The Apprentice website seems to indicate that Amie with be PM for Kinetic this week

just seen the latest episode...

Spoiler
Hooray! Aaron is gone! Woop!

And it wasn't that obvious that he was going to go, either. This episode was much better...an unfortunate early boardroom at 17 minutes again, but I still felt like the footage we got of the task was good.

I genuinely thought Kinetic were going to lose and Aimee was done for, but for once, the editors surprised me.

And I felt so bad for Surya in the Boardroom. They were all quite blatantly blaming him for something that wasn't really his fault.

But all's well that ends well, and Aaron is gone. Good! Cocky bugger

I thought the incident between Suriya and Trump at the end was funny. Trump was in a bad mood

did anyone notice how much Trump used the word 'ass' in this episode? it was like

especially when he said 'you stayed in by the skin of your ass'.

what?? that's not even the phrase!!
Jamie181
13-02-2007
That is a phrase, I use it all the time.

Anyway, I liked this episode. Was quite surprised at who was fired, although I sort of saw it coming by the way the editing focused on his lack of contribution to last weeks boardroom.

Aimee seemed like a terrible PM, but was brilliant in the boardroom at the end. Something tells me it'll come back to haunt her in the end though.

And did anyone notice the 'Trump for President' sign someone was holding up at that conference?

New favourite: Muna. Love the accent.

I too love Muna, Jamie. Sorry, but the Jamaican accent just steals my heart.

As for the 'Trump for president' sign, puh-leeze. The parts of the show like that (and with Trump to Sean at the start 'So, I'm gonna be away for a few days...can you watch over the task for me?' 'Yes sir, Mr. Trump') are so eye-roll worthy.

In fact:

Episode 5 -- definitely a better sense of seeing the task, though the boardroom still happened too early.

I'm glad they lost, and quite happy about who went home.

The editors really didn't like Ami did they

Donald Trump continues to be the biggest ASS (he's got me saying it now too!).

Sean -- I'm so glad I didn't watch his season, he really REALLY bugs me -- where's Ivanka?

16-02-2007
Nooooo Sean is much better than Ivanka!!! I'd like to see some more previous winners be "the eyes and ears"

I thought it was quite obvious who would go, particularly as they were focusing on Aaron saying nothing the previous week. Although they did strongly hint that Aimee and Jenn might both be fired. Surya was never going home IMO.

It's picking up now, but still they seem to be trying so hard to appeal to a broader audience that they've dumbed it down a bit

I agree. Sean > Ivanka!

He has very nice lips ...

Wow, I logged on to my computer to find Episode 6 had downloaded whilst I was out, which was great!

Spoiler
So bye-bye Aimee! Wow, she was REALLY pissed at the end, did you see her face when she got in the car? Eek!

A bit annoying that once again, it was MORE than obvious Aimee was going, but I still feel like we got a reasonably good feel of the task and what was going on.

Nicole/Tim I absolutely adore...Tim's such a gentleman, isn't he? And Nicole is just great, even though SHE SCREAMS EVERYTHING, OH MY GOD I'VE NEVER EVEN SEEN A JELLYFISH.

Surya is also on psycho watch.

Definitely hoping for a team restructure next week, just because I still feel we don't know enough about the current Kinetic team. Although Jenn/Nicole Richie mark 2 came out of herself a bit more this episode.

As regards to the preview at the end of the week, does that mean that there is no episode next week?

Either way, I'm incredibly excited by it! 'Just two words' gets a double firing?

I bet it's something like:

'Surya, you're fired'.
Frank: THANK GOD!
'Frank, you're also fired!'.

I can see it being Frank or Nicole saying something to get themselves fired, much like the fantastic Erin in Season 3

Just seen episode six:

Spoiler
Great stuff, although the show really needs to be longer. The task scenes ended 17 MINUTES into the episode.

Although I generally despise "reality TV romances" and they make me want to smash my TV to smithereens, I have to say this stuff with Tim and Nicole is actually bearable and for the first time in my stone-hearted life, I actually wish to see more and hope they get married and have lot of kids and possibly a dog

Maybe its because they're both just down-to-earth, friendly fun people.
