Connecting TV/DVD etc
Hi guys, a bit of advice needed. I currently have the following TV (with 2 scart inputs), VCR, SKY, Surround Sound System
(incl DVD player). I have leads and scarts all over the place at the back and would like advice on the definitive way to set this system up. Currently, it all works, but when I listen to the TV in terrestrial mode, I have Nicam sound. when I put it on channel 6 (via Sky), it goes into Mono, is that normal?? I don't tend to use the surround sound for everyday use, just when watching films/DVDs. Any advice much appreciated, thanks.

Simplest connection method would be:
SCART out on DVD player > SCART in on VCR (i.e. AV2 SCART) SCART out on VCR > VCR port on Sky box TV port on Sky box > SCART 1 on the TV. This should allow you to see RGB from both Sky and the DVD player (assume you have RGB enabled already). To get stereo sound from the Sky box you must switch to the AV channels. The RF output from the Sky box (which you have tuned to channel 6) is mono only. When recording from Sky, set the VCR to channel A1 (or AV1) and you will get stereo recordings. |
