On many Sony's it's : Turn off to standby then power off completely. Turn power on so it's in standby then press:

i
5
vol +
TV (the square symnbol that exits Text)

you should be in the service mode. Be VERY careful what you alter as it can ruin your TV, note anything before changing it.

Also check out http://www.kv32tweak.freeuk.com - although not for your TV much info there on setup might help you.

i can`t find the the 'i' button on my remote

where about is it on the remote ?

Well on many Sony TV's the i button is the one that gives onscreen information. You press it and it allows permanent display of channel / av input. Press it again to cancel that function.

It may be a small square with an 'i' in it or possibly a small square with a '+' in it.

i`v got a model KV B2512U


i`ve put it on standby
turned off
powered up (in standby)
pressed [ +] (no effect)
pressed 5 (unit comes out of standby)
pressed vol+ (no visible effect)
pressed [ ] button (screen shows channel number)

does it not work on my model ?

I think your TV uses another method to access service mode. If I find it I'll let`you know
