i had a 32" lexsor from currys and it had 1 dead pixel right in the center of the screen i was told that there needed to be 4/5 pixels in 1 area dead before it would be considered a fault. i went back to the store tho and demanded to speak with the manager and after alot of complaining they agreed to exchange for another tv. i guess it all depends on where you baught it and how persistant you are in complaining

well i dont have much to say about currys , i had a tv that kept switching off every so often when this happened , it wouldnt comeback on for a couple of days, 3 visits from tech and it never happened when they came so they couldnt fix or find a fault, went to currys to exchange and they wouldnt let me,the fault needed to be seen otherwise tough luck, they said leave in shop and they would keep a eye on it, 2 days later i received a call, they at last let me exchange the thing, the manager was making me out that i was lying, in your face manager when i saw him last

If you just bought it, then just take it back and say that it isn't in prefect working order..!! I do beleive that you have upto 14 or 16 days to exchange faulty goods before they can tell you an engineer must see it..!!

Do a search for the sale of goods act and print out a copy and shove that in the managers face if he gets funny..!! the law is the law..!!

But "faulty" is the key word. Most manufacturers make it clear that LCD production isn't "perfect", and that some stuck elements might be found. Providing that declaration is clear, the manufascturer isn't accountable. If your not shown such a declaration by the shop, then you could argue it was a case of miss-selling, that the good are not "fit for the purpose" you had in mind.

Also is a dead pixel the same as a stuck pixel??? Because there is a video file that people can burn to a DVD/VCD (ie. a video loop if random flashing colours) that can be played for a set time to try and fix dead pixels?
