Homechoice vs Cable

I've just found out that ntl broadband has been enabled in my area. I'm on my second four months free with Homechoice. Other than saving money, does anyone else have any opinions on whether cable or Homechoice is a better bet? ntl's best bundle seems to be 10Mb broadband, Family Pack TV and evening and weekend calls for £48.

Homechoice uses your internet connection for the tv service, if you want faster broadband than cable sounds like a decent bet.

I've found Homechoice's internet to be fairly excellent: decent speed and reliable.

I'm more interested in the TV - what is ntl's picture quality like (I find Homechoice's not very good)? Also, how does their VOD compare? And is ntl London likely to get a PVR or HD soon?

I've never had Homechoice, but I have NTL and I find picture quality to be good.

As for VOD, we have 500 films available, along with Catch Up TV, TV Hits, Music Videos and erm, Adult Content:

I know that plenty of work has been done in London recently (I think there's a big London thread in the NTL forum BTW), not sure if the TV Drive (NTL's version of Sky's HD box) is available down there yet, what with the looming Virgin re-branding and all.

Hi there

I have been with HC for over a year and can honestly say it beats the competition hands down.

I used to have NTL and I have seen their Replay service. At 99p a pop per episodes its a dull shade of what HC offers

HC also offers good VoD from channels other than BBC and ITV such as National Geographic etc all included in the subscriptions.

VMX their on-demand music service is hot too!

Internet excellent, picture quality excellent, customer services (despite some groans are here) are excellent too!
