Vodafone HSDPA Datacard
Does anyone know the score with these GPRS/3G/HSDPA Mobile Datacards and other networks/country's SIM cards.
I have sold one to South Africa and the guy can't get it working. I've tried T-Mobile and Orange SIM in another unit and can't see a network. The pre-HSDPA units worked fine with other SIMs. If they are locked, can they be unlocked? |

If you bought it off a specific vendor it will most likely be locked.
I know Vodafone UK lock theirs and Cingular USA do too. I have never unlocked one and dont know if its possible. You will have to contact whoever you bought it off. |

My T-Mobile one is locked but only if you use T-Mobiles connection software.
If you use Vodafone's or Orange's own both available on their respective websites it works OK but I can't get O2's software to recognise the card. Or setup a manual DUN and don't use the software provided once the card drivers have been installed, I find that also works with both networks above and O2. Note apart from T-Mobile all tests were at 2.5G. |
