hi there

anyone have a link to a page that clearly describes what each of the widescreen geometry setting abbreviations do and to which part of the picture it affects ?

e.g. EWW, HSH, LCP etc

thanks
scott

btw, the tv concerned is philips 24pw6006

They could be specific to your TV (doesn't the manual mention them?), but this document is the 'official' specification for all the different widescreen formats. It's a bit of a beast though!

They will differ from manufacturer to manufacuter i reckon, so why not fire up google and search for " <your tv manufacturer> geometry settings".

If the web doesnt return any results, always check google groups as well, as this sort of stuff probably has a newsgroup for it somewhere.

If you mean the setup stuff accessible from the Service Menu, some of these are standard (E-W Pincushion, H & V Linearity, etc.), but many are manufacturer specific. If you can get hold of the Service Manual for your set, that will give you a full list.
