BTW, as it's sort of still on it's first (mainstream) airing in the UK, can people watch the spoilers? Sorry to be picky but there's only another week or so to go. Cheers.
In real life Luke would have beaten the crap out of Christopher

I love this show, and own the first 3 seasons. Hope they hurry up and release the others.

Luke went on and on about no secrets after Christopher called once and Loralei turned the answer machine off, yet when he finds out he has a daughter, he kept it secret for 2 months. Then he refused to include her in anything to do with her, so Loralei felt like she was skulking around. Then, he postponed the wedding!

I can see why Lor' was peed off

I love the GG so much. I haven't seen most of the first 3 series, anyone know if E4 are going to show it from the beginning again? If not I will have to get the dvds. I'm very happy it's on over Xmas.

I didn't like the show when I first saw it years ago (smug describes the whole show very well). I actually like Rory as she seems more vulnerable and less smug, but Lorelai still irritates the bejesus out of me. I want to like her, but I just can't. In fact, most of the characters on the show are incredibly irritating. I hate Kirk and Paris, although I do like Lane. Logan is the most smug and irritatating of them all - I hate him with a passion!!

The show is notable for its lack of strong male characters. Luke is nice enough but blah. Richard is very blah compared to Emily and Christopher is a total nonentity.

I wonder if we will ever see the Gilmore's in Heroes, seeing as Peter Peterlli was in this show?

This is the most amazing show. So I decided to upload just a sample of my favourite funniest clips.

Gilmore Girls funny moments.

Hope someone enjoys them.

I added the 'Midterms' scene because Lorelai's expression is hilarious.

I looove the Gilmore Girls. I bought the full box set from the US and have watched it through several times. I'm currently back at the start of Luke and Lorelai flirting and the Rory/Dean/Jess triangle. It really bears rewatching.

For those struggling with the final season, it is worth keeping watching for the finale which is AWESOME imho

No, Luke suits Lorelai better. His seriousness balances out Lorelai's wackiness. Also, Lorelai loves Luke and vice versa.

I know Lorelai went to Christopher, but his smug satisfaction after the first night back together, whilst Lorelai was distraught really annoyed me. He knew she was engaged to Luke, but he acted as if she was single, like Logan, with that constant self satisfied grin on his face. I can't even remember if he actually stopped and asked her what was going on with Luke or if he suggested they stop.

Maybe I'm letting Lorelai off the hook too much, but to me Christopher took advantage of her.

For me the show died when Rory started going out with Logan, it was so out of character
Spoiler
did it for me. Nice to see it being shown in the UK, would have been nice to have watched it to the end but I also got annoyed with the on/off status of Lorelia's relationships

Actually season 6 and 7 were the worst seasons.
However, Rory had to step out of line sometime.
Worst moment, when she started editing the Yale Daily News.

Yeh, you're right 6 and 7 really went downhill. Lorelai stopped being funny and quirky and just became annoying and selfish. It was so out of character for Lorelai to be impulsive and get married so quickly. It was so obvioulsy a device to split her away from Luke. They should never have carried on after Amy Sherman Palladino left, nobody could write Lorelai like she could.

I actually thought Lorelai was really well suited to the guy who worked for Richard (can't remember his name!)

6 and 7 did go a bit downhill but still great - although the marriage was out of character I thought it was believeable because it was with Christopher who she had such a history with - if it had been a random it would've been crazy.

I also really like Rory with Logan - then again I quite fancy Logan!

I thought I would really like the Luke/Lorelai or Chris/Lorelai relationships but I found them really disappointing, they both lost their personalities and became Rory replacements.

I seem to be the only who hated Jess, I thought he was an awful character and the episode where he goes looking for his dad is the only one I have watched once, didn't care for Luke's long lost daughter either, very annoying.

I didn't think much of Jess either. Rory has terrible taste in men.

That episode was a 'back door pilot'. They were intending to spin Jess off into his own show, based around him moving to live with his new-found dad.

Just a quick heads up, there are only two more episodes to go before the end of it's morning E4 run. They've repeated it twice over now, and it's replaced Everwood on Thursday morning.

It was the wonderful Kareoke episode today.

Ahhhh *kisses thread*
I lurrrve the Gilmore Girls, have all the dvd's yet seem to watch the thing religiously every time its been shown on tv.
Saw it in America years ago and fell in love with it.

Quote:
Yes he should have told Lorelai that he had a kid a bit sooner but she was just so selfish. She didn't appear to talk to him about how she felt and sort out another wedding date.. just BAM marry me now.
But Luke was also a bit selfish with the whole April thing so I think she just got the end of her tether waiting, I mean look how long it took them to get together!

Ahhhh that was amazing, love it every time, not a bad singer either!
Also Babette and Miss Patty, I would buy that cd!

I really dislike Logan alot, and each time I watch the series he is in I like him alot less, he has this foul smugness and just urg.
Emily on the other hand, I'd love a grandmother like that!

Lauren Graham is a great singer. She did a good job of reining it in for the show!

And I share your hatred of Logan. Smug rich prat, and his idiot mates.

And you are right about Emily. She could do stupid things at times, but if she was on your side, you'd take on the devil himself!

One of the best series ever made, watching again for about the 4th time, just started season 4.

Earlier seasons better than later ones, it kinda started to wander when Loralei and Rory stopped talking and Rory moved in with the Grandparents, and then Amy Sherman Palladino leaving was the kiss of death.

Would be good to see a GG movie written by Palladino in a few years time to see what happened to them all.

I agree flutegirl. I'd call it 'The Gilmore Women' and it'd show Rory returning from her adventures for Lorelai and Luke's wedding. Hep Alien could reform to play the reception.

Oh that would be amazing!
As long as Palladino took the helm of it it could work, otherwise it would probably be a half arsed attempt.
My favourite series has to be series 2 or 3, I was trying to think of my favourite episode but it is impossible, though series 4's The Festival of Living Art is a good contender.
I do fear instead of becoming a male Emily i'll become a male Sookie!
