I'm sorry If I missed an obvious link here ,

Can anyone point me in the direction of some audio of the Chris Moyles tribute on C.M.'s BBC R1 brekky show last week ?

I've tried Aunties 'listen again' facility - with no luck.

Apologies if I missed an obvious link on the thread.

Best wishes to all D.S.rs over the whatsname period.

I thought that it was actually repeated within the Mike Dicken Tribute programme you can download from the talkSPORT website.

Just downloaded it.

I've never listened much to C.M. - but his courtesy and decency, will I'm sure be appreciated by all of of us who enjoyed the late M.D.'s work.

Many thanks to plasma-screen

Cheers,

With the news that it seems likely Saddam will be hanged tomorrow, I can't help but wonder what we could have expected from tonight and tomorrow's show.

I think this is the first big event where I'll miss Mike being around to talk about it and bring on his style of guests/commentators, and I wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't already planned for this show.

I hate to think what Gaunt will do with news of Saddam's demise. One thing for sure, it won't get the same treatment it would have received from Messrs Dickin and Wolf.

I bet George will be upset once his buddy is gone.

I share his opinion that Bush and Blair are also guilty of warcrimes as well as Saddam. His crimes were admittedly worse but where is the line drawn. Blair can't be too happy about what's going on, given his anti-death penalty stance. No wonder he got pissed off when interviewed by Sky News' Adam Boulton.

I personally think they should have left Saddam to rot in a small cell in Iraq.

He's now got the 'Obi-won Kenobi' syndrom. I.e, He's a now a martyre.

There is a new obit to Mike in today's Independent http://news.independent.co.uk/people...cle2134887.ece
written by Mike Allen.

Thanks for this - I have been a bit frustrated by the lack of information given by presenters on Talk Sport over the last couple of weeks. 'Died in a car crash' was as much as I have heard which implied a very serious smash with the possibility of other casualties.... the lack of detail also leaving the possibility that Mike actually caused the accident... especially as he used to be a stunt driver.

Thankfully noone else was hurt and it was a natural death... though a very sad one. Mike stood up against authority and stupidity and will be sadly missed.

Stunt driver? What the hell has that got to do with anything! Do you think perhaps he had flipped his car onto 2 wheels to get through the traffic more easily?

We lost a great radio presenter, and nobody else was hurt in the accident, that's all that matters.

Good stuff!

I feel privelaged in having Mike say those imortal six words to me.

I tried so hard not to ask him how he was but it comes out!!

Great tribute. Although I laughed alot it was also quite sad.

Excellent! Quite moving!

Really nice to hear Moyles, Wogan and Boyd all paying respect on their own stations. Goes to show we still have legends that are respected in this shitty industry!!!

Mike Dickin - God Bless!

P.S - Does anyone know the date of Moyles onair tribute!

Seems much longer than a month since he died. Maybe because it was over Christmas?

Thought I would bump up the thread by quoting Martin's post with the link on with today being ten years since that happened.

It was one of Mike's finest hours and to prove what a varied broadcaster he could be the conversation 24 hours earlier was about fetishes!

This time last year I noticed today would be a Friday, one of Mike's nights, and thought I would have to make sure I didn't miss Mike expecting him to talk about it which sadly I don't have to worry about.

Although if there is an afterlife I'm sure Mike will be talking about tonight - with Diana herself!
