If we were talking about a professional event, I wouldn't have a shadow of a doubt about Karen's choreography winning out. I think their professional records speak for themselves and while there's no doubt that Lilia has been very successful, she's not in the same class in terms of her pro record. The show is an entirely different thing, and while again I personally always prefer Karen's choreography, there are other elements that come into play. They can go crazy with lifts if they want to, and obviously the Lilia/Matt combo have an advantage there. I think Karen's routines are really going to show off Mark's dancing abilities with some really fun tricks etc thrown in. Lilia is (quite rightly) going to try and grab the wow factor with lifts etc as often as possible in the dances where they can get away with it.

Lifts aside, I think Karen's choreography is going to be the more exciting, and the wow factor achieved through that I hope will ultimately win the day.

On the point of choreography can I just say I know nothing and I wasn't having a go at Karen. I love her. Just as someone whose knowledge is completely limited to this show, I worry about what she'll try and I never worry that Lilia will try something that won't come off. And I think lifts win votes, I really do.

And there's the other side of that point about Matt - how different would it be if Mark had had to do a ballroom for his first dance? Then everyone would be going on about how they'd never have believed he was going to be in the final and isn't it amazing. I think it's a shame it has to be a competition at all. I'm telling myself I won't care who wins as long as they both dance brilliantly (but it's not completely true!).
