It is every five minutes now it is really annoying me. I am up and down to the toilet like a yo yo. The thing is I am not even drinking anymore than usual. Is this normal?

You have Cystitis, an infection of the bladder.

I get that occasionally even if I havent drunk loads.

it goes after a few hours, sometimes might last a day.

If its a bladder infection just keep drinkingwater,no caffeine and flush it out as they say.

How long have yuo had it?

Edit: doesnt Cystitis burn tho when you wee?

If its Bacterial Cystitis I suppose you should try Antibiotics for that.

About two or three days. I need to wee every five minutes literally.

it definitley sounds like a bladder infection of some sorts.

Seeing as youve had it a few days Id go to the docs and he'll probably give you some antiobiotics (and he may want a sample of your wee).

It may be Cystitis but I always thought that burnt as well.

It's only cystitis if you are getting a burning sensation, or a throb in your bladder. I have had this problem for a couple of years now, and I am borderline for a condition called Diabetes Insipidis. It means that I don't produce enough of a hormone from the pituatory gland which concentrates urine, so it's too diluted. I sometimes have to wee 20 times a day and night, yet only drink three coffees and one tea a day normally, nothing else at all. I've just done another test recently, and am awaiting the results, but I had to collect all that I passed in a 24 hour period. I actually drank about half the quantity of liquid that I wee'd out again!

Does it hurt when you urinate? Do you find that you feel like you need to go when in fact there's nothing left to come out?

No, there is no burning or hurting, and every time I need to go I pee a bucketful...

Definitely sounds like some sort of bladder infection. Not Cystitis though, as there is usually some pain involved with that. I had this a couple of months back. I would be peeing all day, and when I had finished peeing, I would get a horrible pain in my bladder, that felt like I needed to go again, even though there was nothing to come out. Antibiotics cleared it within a day.

I would definitely go to the doctors, especially as it's been going on for a few days. It will be nothing to worry about, and some antibiotics should clear it.

I thought it might have been a urinary tract infection like I used to be prone to, but I don't think so if it's like that.

Trip to the doctors?

Ah, diagnosis by telepathy. A rare skill. Can you tell me what this strange rash is on my....no, wait, forget that.

SuperFool, you can only get guesswork on here. Frequent need to pee could have any one of a hundred reasons. A visit to your doctor will get you a useful answer.

Frequent urination can be a sign of diabetes, pregnancy, urinary tract infection , bladder infection, kidney problems, 'the cold', too much coffee - as ianx says, 101 reasons.

If you have pain or feel thirsty, see your doctor tomorrow. Otherwise, give it a day or two drinking plenty then go to your doctor if you are still peeing lots.

I think 'Boot's' will give you a diabetes test if you want to rule that out.

Sounds like someone is putting diuretics in your tea.

I've had something similar for the last few days. I actually only need to go every hour or so, but that's a lot for me - usually twice a day. Feeling generally unwell too, have put it down to some sort of virus.

Not to enter into the scaremongering and the "I'm not a doctor, but I've played one on t.v." OP should go to the doctor that's the sensible thing to do.

And as for you, you need to go too. If you're urinating often and generally feeling unwell...you should go to rule out things like diabetes.

I've seen enough doctors and specialists recently to last a lifetime. I'll decide about yet another visit if I get any worse.

Though I agree that the OP should go.
