I thought its got quite good of late (although I haven't seen the socks for a while which is a shame).. They've stopped being just a metal channel and gone back to playing a good mix of genres.. still not as good as the m2 days, but a step in the right direction.. Other than the hip-hop hour, and eminem (its Eminem week, or it was anyway so I forgive them for that..) I haven't seen much hip-hop.

Originally posted by RichardS It was Eminem Fornight on MTV, MTV Base and MTV|2. That's why, and percentage wise now that has finsihed rap probably makes up about 5% of its output, not that much really. Since its re-lauch IMO the channel has gone from strength to strength. They are showing some classic videos now, like High & Dry by Radiohead for one |

P-Rock is the only channel now playing true "alternative" music, being alternative from the main stream, and not alternative the style... which as you can see from the likes of Avril Lavigne and Limp Bizkit, is just pop and very much the main stream nowadays. They play output from the likes of Wolftown Records, and a lot of Underground Ska-Punk stuff. True independents, on independent labels that aren't associated with the big 5. Its a shame I don't particularly like the stuff they play on P-Rock. |
