Anyone know where to get reasonably price -R Dual layers?
Seems +R dual layer DVDs have dropped to the £1-1.50 mark but -Rs are still around the £3 mark (CD-Rmedia). Anyone found any cheaper and/or a way of making +Rs work?

140 viewings and no responses!! Incase there are any shy lurkers wondering the same thing I have raised a question with Pioneer about whethere they are going to update the software on the x30 series to allow +R dual layer discs to be used. Theory is it is only a code change as the next x40 DVRs are able to use both. And for those wondering what all the fuss is about +R Dual (Double) Layer discs are in plentiful supply and around £1.20-£1.50, -R Dual Layers are rarely stocked, usually out of supply (that I've found) and around £3.00-£3.50.
Oh, don't hold your breath waiting for a reply though as my last question wnet unanswered despite me asking for updates to it 8 times! |

Just spoke to a Pionner engineer and they are not going to update the code (for this or a couple of other 'querks' I mentioned). Looks like Pioneer is one of these 'If you want a few feature buy the latest box' manufacturers. I'll remember that when it comes to buying a HD TV and a hi def. DVR.

Try these two sites:
http://svp.co.uk/ http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/?gclid=C...FQOHlAodlVmFPA They've both been around for years and I still buy a lot of blanks from them, have done since I paid £799 for my single speed Pioneer DVD burner many years ago (oh how times have changed) |
