Coronation Street Wednesday 20th December
Couldn't see a thread. What a great double act Eileen and Steve make
No drama needed, their comedy really makes the episode. Anyone else hear Roy call Frankie, Beckie?

Loved Blanche's line:
Vera: "Only 2 people knew about that hat: Ivy Tilsley and Hilda Ogden. One of them's dead and one of them's living in Derbyshire". Blanche: "I don't know which is better off". ![]() Also liked the way the writer made reference to Frankie "not lasting 5 minutes inside"

Damn it, I wanted to be the first to post the Vera/Blanche exchange!!
Blanche had a few good one liners tonight. I thought this was a pretty good episode despite there not being very much advancement in any of the storylines. Vera's reading was a very good scene, with another great exchange: Sophie: He's a Cherokee. Vera: A Red Indian? Sophie: Native American, please Vera. He'd be very offended! Also, I'm curious as to why the police haven't brought up the fact that Jamie beat one of Frankie's ex-partners so badly he was in intensive care. I know the charges were eventually dropped, but he was initially arrested and charged with Section 18 Wounding (the most serious kind of assault before Attempted Murder) and the police would have records of that. The blurring that's been present in recent weeks has all but disappeared, but the scene with Gail, David, Audrey and Bill tonight was terrible - perhaps the worst I've seen it. |

Hi ya
At last !!! A ********* free episode.Very good I thought. Loved Steve and Eileen Can't see David Pratt being content to just tinker with that wreck for the next 12 months. I forcast some illegal driving soon. ![]() Becky was a bit naughty but Frankie is a bit of a target. Last edited by SULLA : 20-12-2006 at 20:06. |

I also liked Janice's line near the beginning:
"When Granny comes to tea it's supposed to be tea and cakes, not incest and murder."

I loved the Vera/Sophie stuff. Sophie's been great with this "psychic gift" storyline and it's been hilarious.

What was with Claire tucking all her hair under that hat? She looked ridiculous. More like that Victoria Wood character who wears a raincoat and beret.

![]() I started a separate thread on Claire's hat. I thought it warranted it's own mention.

It was funny when Roy told Becky to shut up then quickly said sorry.
I liked Framie but it's boring now. |

Because Dennis and Sharon hadn't known each other for around 20 years, and Sharon hadn't brought Dennis up, like a mum. Or a sister.
