IF RTD decided to kill Jack,
do you think the show could continue?

Well, Doctor Who continued when William Hartnell left, so I don't see why not.

If CJ left then I`d stop watching it. His history is the only reason I`ve stuck with it so far.

But, come to think of it, if the next series isn`t a vast improvement on this one, then I`ll stop watching that as well, even if CJ is still in it.

But we know that Jack can't die, so .....

Definitely it could although only after we have invested more in some of the others in the team - series 3 perhaps - especially if it was someone really cool who took over like Michael Sheen.

Or is he being kept alive by the other mitten - as Yanto said - mittens come in pairs - Susie died because they broke the mitten.

Anyway, yes currently CJ has a major part - but it would continue without him, but they would need someone really good to step in his shoes - and someone who we know that background of.

That really seemed more of a dark, foreboding message from Ianto as in "it is not destroyed, there is another one out there to cause equal havoc"

Yep, and at this early stage of the whole show, a change in the major character now would be suicidal.

Would that not mean he had drained the life of someone else like Suzie did with Gwen? And if so, who??

CJ was a more interesting character in DW before all this not being able to die guff.

If he did die(which he cant)or leave they woud have a slim chance with all the alien technology they have.

Yes they could continue

Jack has hardly been in it anyway so it wouldnt make any difference if he wasnt in it

Very dissapointed he is not in it more

Okay the gauntlett and the knife were a matched set, am I the only that thinks they were using it wrong.

I think they were meant to be used as intended you stab someone and steal their life permanently, rather useful in combat. Just think how nasty the being that wears this suit of armour could be. A

I think he won't be in the second series and they'll bring in a new boss character.

So, why has John Barrowman indicated in recent interviews that he is there for Series 2? And as you seem so certain of what you say, would you mind quoting your sources?

Well he can't really be in Torchwood and Doctor Who at the same time, can he?

He's only supposedly in DW for the last couple of episodes of S3, and beyond that, who knows. It is not unknown for an actor to be working on more than one project consecutively, especially as DW and TW are filmed at different times. So that does not preclude JB from appearing in both, and any problems (clashes, resting etc) can easily be got round by not featuring his character in a few episodes .....

Not a problem really

How about Sarah Jane Smith taking over the lead role?

For foks sake!!!!!!

Stop living in the god dam 70's!

Get over Sarah Jane!!!!!

Jack is the star of Torchwood,
he will be there next series,
as he has said on Jonathon ross a few weeks back!

So Get the hell over it!

I set up this thread to see your opinions on if in the far far future if John Barrowmen left, could the show continue,

then you have idiots here saying "Jack wont be in series 2! Na na na na na!" like children.

Torchwood for me was set up as a spin-off specifically for Captain Jack because the character was so popular on Dr Who. Therefore even though I agree he's not been in it as much as I'd like, there is still this wonderful mystery around him and that is all part of the show. Who is he? Where did he come from? Why is he immortal? etc etc. The show would not be the same if was "killed off".
I also agree that there is no conflict in guesting in Dr Who, whist appearing in his own show. Many shows with spin-offs do this all the time.

Good grief it was only a suggestion. I'm quite happy for Cap'n Jack to remain.

If anyone's behaving like a child...
