Would be great to have a rolling update every day - apart from Christmas Day's ratings, it's usually a case of waiting for Mediaguardian's update 2nd working day back of the new year! The Hammond interview obviously boosted Ross last night - probably his best ratings in a while. Otherwise, little of note - very poor ratings across the board with all three soaps getting disappointing ratings. I'm amazed at how poor EastEnders' ratings have been in recent weeks. So much so that I can't see it getting the no1 slot on Christmas Day - which could undermine Dibley's prospects too. Jam & Jerusalem's 2 prime slots next week looks rather unfortunate now given its poor ratings. I think ITV1 will clean up on Boxing Day - which would be rare. It also dragged WCOML back down after it had climbed to 4.4m with episode 2. |

I think Pirates of the Caribbean will beat ITV on Boxing Day - Bruce Amighty got 7.4m and i can see POTC getting slightly more. And i think EE will still get the biggest ratings of the night - Pauline dies, its sandwiched between 2 massively popular shows and also its only 30 mins which should help it - i think if it was an hr it would of put some unregular viewers who might be thinking of watching off it. |

That puts SCD third in the most watched programmes of 2006, just behind EastEnders and Corrie, although those figures are unofficial and are likely to go up - especially the earlier show. Thats because the overnight ratings start and finish on the quarter hour so would be from 5.30-7pm, so includes 10 mins of news.

Fantastic Ratings for Friday Night with Jonathan Ross!
I thought with it being nearlly christmas etc. J&J and Worst Christmas would have had a lil Higher ratings , Deal or No Deal doing Brill as Usual! and CC Show doing a lil better than i expected! As for Saturdays SCD did very well, and as i expected stars in your eyes totally flopped! |

During the week The Price Is Right must get less than 1.1 million. I wonder exactly how badly it does?

Nothing out of the ordinary with last nights ratings. ITV held up surprisingly well considering the competition was so strong, although Stars In Their Eyes didn't come out of it at all well.

11.7m for the SCD Results is a very impressive overnights figure, which is likely to end up around 12.5m once the video viewers and the presumed peak at 10-10.10pm is factored in (this will have been counted as part of the BBC News overnight figures). The SCD Results show is now, I think, guaranteed the biggest audience of the festive season and could even come out with the biggest non-football TV audience of 2006. Happy Christmas Simon Cowell!

Out of sequence but I thought you might like Thursday's too. EastEnders is quite low which they should worry about as it's building towards its major Christmas Day storyline.

As for 8pm I wonder how big a dent SCD will put in the Corrie ratings. This is why I think EastEnders will do well, it has virtually no competition and other shows will be taking viewers off each other. I also think Calendar Girls will do very well. |

To be honest i could possibly see Strictly beating Corrie which would be brilliant and i'd imagine Doctor Who will beat Emmerdale - though not by much. |
