These are my most annoying pet hate, there's nothing worse than having to read a bloody manual on a computer!

It's fairly understandable with computer stuff, but, my new LCD TV (LG) has even done the same trick.

There's no reason whatsoever for the buyers to even have a computer, so how will they know what to do and what not to do?

God, it winds me up!

(Merry Christmas!)

Two sides to this, firstly it saves trees and the associated costs involved of printer multilanguage.

The only reason from the manufacturer is cost plain and simple. It must cost a few pounds per manual and profits are slim so every penny counts to them

As you rightly say,ok perhaps for computers (still a big pain though) but not acceptable for TV products.

I am sure that CD's will soon be replaced by only an online PDF version to save further costs.

I like paper manuals as it's hard to read up on your new product using a laptop when sitting on the bog.

Orbitalzone,

Completely agree with what you say, but, there's literally a 'quick start guide', the size of an Argos catalogue, there's 19 (Counted them!) different languages in there, 318 total pages, 12 pages English...

Why couldn't this just be a full manual?

'Every penny counts'

I think the LG is absolutely awesome (Paid £360 for it through work), it's the 26LC2R, the only thing missing is a DVB tuner, but i don't need/want one (If the Philips IDTV software is anything to go by!)

Got a Samsung upscaling DVD player on it and the picture is stunning via HDMI.
