Recording on HC?
Hi all - I have just ordered HC, as that is the only service available in the new flat I have moved into. Researching the forums it seems a reasonable alternative to Sky, Freeview, etc, and good value.
What I am curious about are any recommendations for recording programming that is not available on Replay. I do not have a DVD Recorder or VCR, and would prefer not to buy one. I have just moved from a flat where I had Sky+ and will really miss the PVR functionality. Any suggestions for using my computer to record, or any other low-cost options to save programmes I miss when not at home? Thanks in advance, and Happy Christmas! Eleanor |

hmmm difficult one.
I have a TiVo which works brilliantly with HC, you can get them om ebay. Not sure which other PVRs support HC. I doubt you will be able to record to PC as the box is very simple and only has 2 scart sockets, no serial or usb port etc. Officially HomeChoice do not support any type of recording - even video recorders, so no point asking them. However there are rumours that the new "improved" national service (with new box) launching in the New Year may include a PVR. HomeChoice is fab though, enjoy!!! |

Thanks, Dazbear! I have used TiVo in the US and absolutely loved it, so I will look into finding a second hand one online. Do you need any additional equipment to allow it to 'talk' to the HC box?

TiVo
Nope, but you need to look on www.tivocommunity.com in the UK section to find the right remote code otherwise you have issues with channels 22 etc.
