Well I for one can't wait for the season3 teaser at the end of The Runaway Bride.

On this forum I would have thought
Spoiler
nemesis returns to be slated
would be a more accurate prediction.

Merry Christmas Everyone, as the inimitable Shaky would say.

The bbc doctor who website trailer is cut short so you don't see the Black Dalek. Maybe it'll be updated in a few days now that the secret (ahem!) is out..

Indeed. En masse isn't very threatening any more.

Looks to be me that we find out where Sec, the bouncing emergency temporal shifter ended up after Doomsday.

This is probably going to be the end of them forever, UNLESS Davros returns in the future as he is NOT wiped from space and time like most of the Daleks (well...all of them except the black one that escaped and is going to appear in series 3). The Ice Warriors are not in episode 1, it's the Judoon that are the villains.

yeah i guess its the lone dalek from the torchwood invasion. The next time they return after that should be davros! They cant be turning to the daleks everytime

Call me old and cynical but this here website is quite well read, and if there were genuine major spoilers for DW on a thread here of a someones ignored a non disclosure agreement type, then that thread would be removed for legal reasons really quickly. Just a thought.

Good point. Anyone claiming "exclusives", "spoilers" etc for the new series on here are speculating and have no inside knowledge. Just have fun guessing people. Merry Xmas!

With all these ____ to return threads, it's tempting to make "*SPOILER* DR WHO - SERIES 3 - The Doctor slated to return".

I am bored of Daleks. Summat new, please!

Bringing them back en masse is just a yawn now. They are so completely invincible that they can only be destroyed by religious overtones: either Rose becomes God, or the Doctor and Rose open the doorway to Hell for them. New menace needed.

Ice Warriors would be a nice change, if we are to have old monsters, but I have heard they're definitely not coming back (as also stated here).

Chuckled a lot at Catherine Tate, last night, saying she had missed the Dalek invasion because she was scuba diving in Spain. I'd like to see an episode of Doctor Who that doesn't end with an enormous space ship lazering the Earth's surface!

Yes, about the Ice Warriors - slight flaws.

Problem A): Scientists have more or less comfirmed that there will be no life on Mars in the near future, neither has there been any life (nothing intelligent anyway) in the past million years or so. The Ice Warriors (unless they colonized on Mars or something) would effectively be wiped out by Scientifical Logic.

Problem B): They wouldn't be a very good villain, not in this day and age - they'd instantly collapse because of either the green-house effect or because of the Doctor's Sonic (or Thermal aka The Girl in the Fireplace) Screwdriver.

The only way RTD could bring them back would be to set a story on another planet - (or in the North Pole, but they'd drown) - but another planet, with RTD in charge? Puh.

Yeah, they would be good. But sorry - every viewer beyond the age of 10 wouldn't buy them.

The beauty of the Ice Warriors is that they aren't always villains, they are simply alien. Moreover, they are totally relevent to our time given that Mars suffered from an environmental catastrophe just as we are encountering one. The thing that struck me about this years Christmas episode is that Alien + Earth = evil every single time. Wouldn't it be great to have a race like the Ice Warriors who may be evil or may be heroic, we simply don't know until the story unfolds.

True, true. The only non-evil aliens there has been in the new series of Doctor Who were the ones in The End of the World, but even they were deliberately made to look like rich b****rds

Yes, it would be good if they introduced a 'neutral' alien to the series.
