I did notice some attempt at cross promoting BBC programs, although after watching Doctor Who I got the feeling that ITV were doing the "promotion" as the program DrWho was a stinking turd, Catherine Tate was mouthy and vile (nice boobs at the end though), and Torchwood appears to be dull and boring.
I will never watch either of the above again, or the program they advertised directly after from the same people as Doctor Who.
I have seen better plots and acting at my old school nativity play.

Catherine Tate (who is an ACTRESS) was playing a character called Donna. Nowhere was "The Catherine Tate Show" trailed.
Torchwood has been mentioned in DW Series 1 (it is aslo an anagram of Doctor Who), and also played a bit part in a couple of episodes from Series 2, as well as being fairly central to the ploy in The Christmas Invasion.

As well as being a "sideways" series set in the same Universe (Whoniverse
) and therefore kinda deserving of a mention... It's been done before Buffy/Star Trek etc. I seriously think some people watch TV just purely to criticise what they see. Such a shame-they are missing out on a lot of fun stuff that entertains you as long as you don't take it to be real.

Catherine Tate doesn't have plans to make any more of her comedy sketch show and Torchwood was only slightly touched on so I hardly thing it was a one hour advert for the shows.
