Swapping an ipod shuffle and software to a new computer. Help please?
Cassini

I am trying to swap all my itunes software and music across from one computer to another thus uninstalling it from the old one.

I have tried looking on the help pages at the Apple site but all I seem to find is that you can only use one ipod and one lot of software on one computer - which is all I want to do.

I want to make an old computer redundant and uninstall everything, and move my itunes and ipod across to the new one.

So far I'm not having much success.

I've tried burning all my recently purchased tunes to a CD and for some reason (either there's another unforseen porblem with the hardly-used burner) but it fails to complete the task.

I have now backed them up to CD.

Whats the difference between burning these to CD and backing them up to CD?

Can I restore the backed up CD to the new computer itunes software (if I ever get the thing installed)?

How do i install the itunes software on the new computer when all I get is the thing telling me to reformat my ipod - which has now possibly been done (it stayed in reformat mode for a couple of hours last night till I abandoned it - but the ipod now appears blank).

So many questions....

Any help would be much appreciated.

thank you

Hello well apple dont allow sharing but there is a way, if you can de authorise the content on your old pc/laptop then with your new pc/laptop get online and download software from a site called kennettnet, install then pug in your ipod, it will come up with a menu and then will ask you to tick what songs you want copied over.
BUT don't link your ipod to itunes on your new pc/laptop or YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING. if you have any probs finding the software just message me and i will email a copy of mine if you have a mac or send you the link to the site.
Now you can import anything you have backed up to cd as it tends to loose the drm when its burnt to disc, now just install the itunes software from the apple site then try to reformat it with the new version of itunes, also check for any software updates for your rlevant ipod, hope this all helps .
