A couple of weeks ago, a glass of wine was knocked over. Unfortunately my K750I was next to it. I did not think much of it because it was not immersed fully, so I cleaned the back cover up and thought nothing of it. About 30 minutes later, you could barely see anything on the screen. So I turned it off, opened the back cover. There was wine in the cover. So therefore I left it apart and it has been drying out in the airing cupboard since. Is it doomed for a wine grave?

My mother spilled a cup of soup all over an old Phillips phone, it died! I put it on a radiator to dry out, when dry it worked perfectly for years!

I have thought of that, but I don't know if it would have dried out by now. I also want to know of the chances it working again.

Depends how long it sat there with the battery in and liquid on the circuit board... shorts out the thing.

For future reference, what you should do next time liquid is spilt on your phone:

1. Take the battery out immediately.
2. Stand it upright. Means the liquid is flowing out the bottom and doesn't sit on the circuit board, corroding it.
3. Leave it for a couple of days.
4. Put the battery back in, switch it on, and pray

I worked in reliability for Nokia, and this trick was recommended to me by the warranty centre.

I finally took the courage and put my phone back together. As first it wouldn't flicker into life when charging, so I took the cover off and cleaned it. It has started charging, but I don't hold out much hope.

Usually when a phone gets wet, a short circuit is created, that drains the battery.

You might be in luck...

If it has started charging and the screen shows that it's charging then it will work.
