The Philips DVP5960/05 upscaling DVD player is quite good and plays packed bitstream XviD (which is the default for TV rips). Possibly over your budget at £69.99, but you may get one cheaper in the sales.
There aren't that many good 'cheap' XviD players around at the moment, and some are awful. I would avoid Toshiba players as they are very picky about the types of discs they will accept (I don't think they do packed bitstream either). |

H&B's DX-3255 might fit the bill at £29 or so. Good comments on Amazon and Pixmania.

I am very satisfied with this £30 Cyberhome player, which is sadly discontinued. Far superior at playing DivX than my £300+ Sony DVD Recorder.
