DVD Recorder / Telewest set-up
Hi wonder if someone can get me out of the mess of wires I've got myself into!
My old Mico DVD recorder finally gave up the ghost last night, so I've just got myself a new Bush DVR3006 recorder - but I can't get it to do what it should be doing (i.e. go to the initial set-up screen). The added complication is the amount of stuff that I've previously all had wired up together, namely: TV DVD Recorder 2 X Telewest Pace boxes (referred to as top and bottom box - the DVD records the channel on the bottom box while we watch whats on the top one) Video recorder - so I can go through the thousands of videos I have a transfer them to DVD Surround Sound system. I've attempted to replicate the exact same wire-up as with the Mico, but I'm sure a connection from one thing to another has come loose or fallen out or something. Would anyone be able to help by letting me know, with all of the above equipment, which bits should be plugged into what - and I'll take it from there. Cheers

TW top box TV scart ---> TV AV1
TW bottom box TV scart ---> DVDR AV2 DVDR AV2 ---> TV AV2 (hopefully this is another RGB capable socket......) VCR AV1 ---> DVDR AV3 (red/white audio and yellow video) Surround sound system (is this a DVD player as well?) If so then it will play your DVDs in DD 5.1 ot DTS as appropriate. To ensure that you get surround on all other sources (TW, analog TV, VCR....) just connect a red/white (left/right) audio pair from back of TV to AUX input on surround system. Rgds, Scorp |

Should be no need to have all external equipment connected for initial set up, so personally I would just connect the DVD recorder up to the TV and get the initial setting up done, then plug the external equipment in once it is set up.
Would just be a matter of connecting DVD-R AV1 > TV AV1. |

Brilliant; got it sorted - and I seem to have a scart lead left over (?!?)
Thanks very much indeed for the advice. |
