Anywhere that sells 'SIM Free' phones.

www.carphonewarehouse.co.uk
www.phones4u.co.uk
www.play.com
www.mobilefun.co.uk

If you buy a phone with a SIM card you can still use the one you have.

Also maybe have a look on Ebay as there can be some good deals on there as well.

A lot of people sell new mobiles on there as well as 2nd hand ones (I sold a Motorola V3 on there a while back with loads of extras that had not been used since it was swapped out by Vodafone for a fault near the end of the contract).

Sim free mobiles are considerably more expensive than buying one 'Locked' to a network. this is because the network subsidise the actual cost of the handset.

What i have found from past experience is that many handsets at carphonewarehouse are sold sim free ( my last 2 were, samsung e770 and nokia 6230i) as they sell them as both contract phones and PAYG. either way you will be supplied with a sim card, but you don't have to use it.

If you do get into the situation of buying a phone locked to a prticular network, there is the option of getting it unloocked either online, remotely, or on the high street. prices do vary, so if needs be, shop around.
