I think Hollywood/American celebrity comes into the naming of the Dingle clan somewhere too, Marlon, Elvis...

EDIT: after a 'quick' scan of that family tree I couldn't find Elvis Dingle, but didn't he & his wife/partner leave Peg Dingle with Zak & Lisa a few years ago???

The other year I traced my family tree, it`s surprising how many of my fathers relations had Biblical names (including an Ebeneezer). There much have been alot of this in that time in the North.

I think one half of the family were named after celebrities so Elvis and Marlon fit. The tree shows a Brando too.

Imagine Jesus Dingle. Not too far fetched if a family member went to Spain or South America and fathered or mothered a child. Jesus is a common name in Spanish speaking countries. It would be pronounced 'Heyzeus'.
