iPod Dock at a good price

Hi just got a ipod dock to listen to my music on and I have to say it is brilliant. What makes it even better was the price which was only £22.49 at argos. Don't know if people can get one cheaper then this but I can fully recommend this one. Very good sound and I think its rather loud also has a radio alarm on and the dock looks much smaller in real life then on the pic.

It also doesn't say its compatable with 5th gen. ipods but mine works. You get alot of adapters with it for all different types of pods.

Got one of these before Christmas and I love it.

The sound quality is good, the alarm clock is easy to use, you can change the brightness of the backlit screen and best of all I can connect it to my stereo to make if I want!

Excellent buy!

Bought one of these on boxing day works greta with my 2nd generation ipod nano. For it to stand up firmly you need to have the adapter thing that comes with the ipod nano (for the first one its provided). Sound quality is great and the remote control function is great too.

I have a few questions if anyone can help.

It says it charges whilst the iPod is docked (which is extremely handy because I don't like it charging through the PC), but aren't the iPod batteries supposed to have a very short lifespan and so they recommend you only charge when the battery is almost completely flat? So what I'm saying is, does that mean then that you're wearing your battery down quicker every time you place it on the dock, even if you just want to listen to your music through the speakers or leave it on there overnight so it can wake you up in the morning.

My other question isn't really related to this thread but it seems pointless starting another one so I'll ask ahead. I currently have a 1gb Nano (bought it, then a week or so later they announce the new and improved nanos with double the storage - typical) but I'm quickly running out of space for songs so I'd like to upgrade to either 4gb or 8gb, I think that should be enough really. With the 8gb, is it only available in black? Because I can't see any other colours for this model available anywhere.

Thanks.

Not sure about the first question. Think when it says has only so many charges it means full charges. But I was also wondering the same thing?

It should do! Most docks are the same size anyway, you should have got an adapter when you got your iPod, I did with my Nano.

Don't think so but if ya want to use headphones then surely you can just take the ipod out of the dock!

I got one today and it is pretty nice. the remote is a nice feature but annoyingly you can't turn the radio on from it. I now have a stereo laptop with thousands of songs on it

Just to add to the positive feedback about this product, I got my hands on one today and was pleasantly surprised by it. For the price I wasn't expecting much despite the comments on here but I have to say it is a good bit of kit. The sound quality is great and although some are a bit fiddly, the other features are very handy indeed.

Thank you so much for the heads up on this. I've been searching for a docking station for by the bed for weeks and the one I bought 1/2 price with the Ipod was pants and was just about to order another from Amazon.

Could I just ask a question please? I like to listen to music while going to sleep. If I put the Ipod in the dock and just leave it running while I nod off, can the alarm system still be active to wake me up?

I don't remember seeing any adapter with the Ipod Nano - only got it a few weeks ago. I'll double check.

Edit: Yes, I've got an adapter, I remember wondering what the hell that was for.

You can set it to play for a length of time and then turn off (e.g. 1 hour) it will then be ready for the alarm in the morning

Thank you. I realised a little while after I posted that, I'd probably have to use the 'sleep' function. That's usually an hour I think.

I have the Marantz docker which plugs into you orginal stereo. It comes with a remote, shows the ipod screen on your TV, comes with leads and also charges. It's superb but costs about £80.
