My DMR EX75 is about 3 or 4 months (well within guarantee - although it is multi region which might make things interesting).

The last few days a fault/problem has appeared.

When watching a TV channel the picture (and sound) disappear after a second or two.

There is no problem when watching any recording, or when looking at the on screen display. It also (so far) has not been a problem when recording anything.

All the connections seem secure and are the same setup as I used without problems for several months.

Turning on and off makes no difference.

However, changing channels a few times (so far) seemes to solve.

Can anybody think of anything in any of the set up menus which might be causing this?

Has anybody else had the same problem? Did you manage to fix it?

is it only the freeview channels or do the analogue ones do it too ? Maybe a signal problem ? if you go to manual tuning you can check the signal bar chart.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check the signal strength next time it happens. But my TV is also Panasonic, and the integrated Freeview in that doesnt go off at the same time.

I have had the problem again, and it seems to be nothing to do with the signal (both readings were "10").

Can anybody think of any setting that I might need to alter to stop this happening? It isnt the biggest problem in the world, but obviously I'm worried that if I ignore it, it may simply carry on getting worse.

I've had the same problem, albeit infrequently.

I did notice that when you go into any of the menus (with the small tv picture showing) then that appears to be fine and doesn't go black like the main picture - so I assume the box is having no problems picking up the signal .

The only way I've found to stop it is to switch channels like you suggested or to re-tune the channels again. It then seems to prevent it happening for another couple of months.

I can only guess that something on the panny has become out of synch.

On another forum they have come up with the theory that :

1. The problem starts only when watching one of the Sky channels

2. It can always be cured by tuning to a BBC channel and leaving it there for 10 seconds or so.

Both of these fit with my experience too.

Hi i have just purchased the dmrex75 in november after a couple of weeks the picture just went,i found the same solution was to go to bbc news 24 to get the picture back, i hope it does not get more frequent.

Got exactly the same problem myself and also tuning to a bbc channel resolves it so at least its not a fault with my unit!

I have also noticed this a number of times when watching sky news. I will give the above solution a try. I also put it down down to a poor signal due to the bad weather.

Same problem here. switching to News24 helps but last week I was watching BBC4, I watched one program then decided to record the following one. Went to watch the program this morning and it's a black screen with "no signal" on the bar at the bottom. This is the third time happening and yes the signal strength is 10.
