DVD record to Video tape
should I able to record off of a DVD CD onto a video recorder?

yes but dvd cd quality is poor as so many types

Generally, yes, although bear in mind that 'bought' DVD's may be copyright protected and will not copy - not that you were copying a bought DVD though, as it is illegal
Bit baffled as to why you'd want to go from DVD to VHS, which would be a downgrade in quality - most people want to go the other way. |

In my caravan I have an old set with built in VHS, have not upgraded to VCD

Ah, I see. It should be possible, depending on what you want to transfer, by connecting the two with a SCART lead.

buy the cheapest dvd player from tesco. they are tiny and ideal for caravans. nice and light
|
