Getting The Best From The 360 With My New HD TV
Nolan Deckard

Hi.

I recently purchased an XBOX 360 to play on my SD TV, after deciding a HD TV was the way to go I looked around and decided on the Samsung 26" LE26R74BDX.

This came yesterday and all around I am happy with the HD display it gives through my 360.

I was just wondering if anybody could give me some advice on getting the most from my 360 through the TV? What cables would be best (currently using the ones supplied with the 360 Premium Pack), any settings I could fiddle with on my TV, viewing distance, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The 360 VGA cable will give a better picture than the component cable that comes with the premium because it lets you set the 360 to the native resolution of your TV (1366x768) instead of the 720p/1080i over component that the tv has to scale to fit the screen.

You can also enable "Game Mode" in the settings which improves the TVs response time (this setting is not universal to the whole TV.. if you switch it on while watching a picture via scart, it will only be enabled when you watch via scart. So make sure you enable it when the 360 is actually being displayed).
