Problem with Motorola text message inbox
I've got a Motorola V3i. When someone sends me a text, in my inbox it just shows their number and not their name. I've made sure all my friends are in my phone book, but still when I get it text is just says +4479...... etc instead of 'John' for example.
Does anyone know how to sort this out? I'm on T-Mobile. |

This can happen when you have the same number stored against more than one name.
It could be as simple as having the number on the SIM card and on the phone. I can't tell whether this is what's happening in your case. |

If I send a message to 'John' for example, it will say 'John' in the outbox, but if I get a message FROM 'John' my inbox will say +447777777777 instead of 'John'. I've had nothing but problems with this phone since I bought it. |

Try going into messages, hit the centre top button to get into Msg Centre Menu, scroll down to message setup, enter then select Folder View and it should give you the option to change how messages are displayed.
