Claire King for 'Housewives' role?

Strictly Come Dancing's Claire King has been offered a part in Desperate Housewives.

The Emmerdale and Bad Girls actress caught the attention of the hit show's producers when they visited the UK, according to a report today. She is expected to play a secret sister of Edie Britt, but friends claim that she is more excited about the possibility of scenes with Jesse Metcalfe.

A source told The People: "Claire is so excited and will be playing on her strengths as a strong and sexy character. She'd love to get her hands on Jesse - he's a real hunk."

that is exactly what i was thinking!! and desperate is the word! she should be made into an old cleaner from parker and porter-lynettes kids school or something grubby like that well if shes in it and might be eadie britts secret sister or whatever she won't have to act like a bitch shes alrady one and i think someone who knows that is our lovely brendan!!!!
sorry thats a bit bitchy but i still won't forgive her for making those cheap shots at brendan! sorry... oh lets remember shes getting married and is etting excited about a boy in his 20's!!

Don't worry I'm sure he gave as good as he got - he usually does. I'm not sure he was quite so used to a partner that flung it all back at him though.

Why does everyone feel sorry for Brendan???? He is so arrogant and in love with himself. (proof eing his outbursts on BBC1 'Just the two of us' I'm just glad that Claire got to the papers before he did. He obviously has no respect for women.

I am absolutely thrilled that Claire King has been offered a part in Desperate Housewives. She is a fantastic actress, Shell shell and co are obviously too young to remember her outstanding performances in Emmerdale!!!!! I think she will be excellent in America and certainly isn't too old. She is the perfect represenative for British actresses.

I'm sure she was joking about Jesse Metcalfe, who wouldn't want to get their hands on him.

Because Brendan was being treated unfairly by Claire and BBC and their presenters. Claire is pathetic, what she said about Brendan can only convince me that Brendan wasn't interested in her and she's hurted by this. Sorry Claire, I personally wouldn't love a old chimney for a start, not to mention your two-face personality.

If the news is true, then apparently Claire's tactic works. I simply don't like people who get what they want by stabbing other people's back.

Am I asking a volatile question but how did she stab Brendan in the back? Have I missed something.

I always believed Brendan could hold his own.....but perhaps I have gotten the wrong end of the stick.

It is good for Claire - she shouldn't expect too much to come of it though.

But to your comments on Brendan - have you actually seen Just the Two of Us? Brendan has not had a single outburst or the semblence of a tantrum on the show. He is humble, accepts every comment from the judges with good grace, is thrilled to be allowed to sing with Beverley Knight who he praises and thanks at every available opportunity. She obviously really likes him and has said the image people have of him is all wrong.
We will never know the truth but I actually believe that he and Claire did get on OK although they had nothing in common. Her newspaper articles were put out at a time she was job-hunting. It probably had nothing to do with her but was the work of her agent - such things are common practice. This is confirmed for me by her positive mention of Brendan in an article last week (now that she has a job) and her trying to spend most of the SCD final evening with him according to someone who was there. He does have a lot of respect for women which is why you will probably never see him trying to defend himself against such stories in the press.

Anyway good for Claire to be able to get a small taste of Hollywood. It can't be easy for an actress who looks a bit older than her actual years to find work. The competition is fierce. However, I wish her luck. I don't know when she was spotted by the Desperate Housewives producers but if it was on SCD which I doubt, she has Brendan to thank for this break - after all, he helped her to be noticed in the show with their dance routines.

Brendan can hold his own but Claire's newspaper articles that were published after their eviction from the show were paramount to stabbing him in the back. I believe he felt they had got on well.
And in this case, he couldn't hold his own or defend himself as he seems to have adopted the policy of not responding to such articles. I think she used him to create publicity which she otherwise may not have had in order to increase her job-hunting prospects. I don't know much about her but I believe this isn't the first time she has written unpleasant things about work-colleagues

Yes I do agree that Brendan did do a very good job with Claire on SCD although I do feel at times that he thought he was the celebrity.

Ido also think that those two were paired up together for the entertainment value which proved successful, they were the most watchable couple.

I really dn't think that Claire expected any romance from Brendan as she is going to get married to her boyfriend. I am rather biased towards Claire as I recenty read hr book and found it an enthrawling read. She isn't as braisen as people like to make out.

One thing I think you can DEF say about Brendan is - he has morals!!! HE may be competitive and arrogant at times but that is part of why he has been succesful before, during and after SCD.

Morals? He has NEVER spoken publicly about Natasha and after all the **** in the papers from Claires camp - correct me if I'm wrong - but he has never spoken about his time 'dancing' with her. There is a lot to say in his favour in my book!!!!

I love 'Desp Housewives' ........ don't know if I'll love her though.

I'm not a fan of Claire's and while I think Brendan is entertaining, I'm quite ambivalent towards him also, but on your point on morals, didn't Brendan give an interview to the papers last year slating Fiona?

Don't get me wrong, I've little respect for Claire after saying all that about Brendan in the papers, but to suggest that he is squeaky clean in that regard seems slightly short of the mark.

i think this is a great role for claire
i still do like claire even though i am a brendan fan...the thing that put a downer on her for me was just how she went about it all...fair enough if her and brendan didnt get on....but she sat on claudias couch on more than one occassion saying how close they were, how well they got on and how they were the only couple not to fight, then the morning after they were eliminated she slated him in the papers......reaked of desperate publicity to me...which if the article is true, obviously worked, so am glad she got what she wanted out of it.

Good effort - about time CK got some international recognition.
