green patches on tv screen?

hi
when i turned on my tv this morning i had 2 discoloured patches in 2 of the corners. by discoloured i mean.. when red is in those areas it shows blue, when blue is in those areas it shows green, when green is in those areas in shows a purpley colour. so i guess that it cant display the colour red.
Now i went out last night and the people i share the house with had a party. when i came home he had moved one of the hifi's speaker in front of the tv screen (its a tall floor speaker). would this have caused the patches to appear?
also can it be fixed?

thanks

Yes, it would have been caused by the hifi speaker, most TVs have a degaussing (demagnetising) circuit, it can operate when the TV is switched on, but you might find that you need to UNPLUG the tv from the mains and leave it for a few hours (this is what the manual for my Panny told me to do when I had a similar problem, it did the trick for me). Perhaps you could check in your manual?
