Hurrah! Mark and Karen are my all time favourite SCD couple. Colin and Erin were consistently excellent but for me Maren were sexier and more charismatic.

Whoopie!!!

Well deserved! I loved Colin & Erin too - but they didn't quite have the electricity of Maren (IMHO)......

Hmmmm. I did love Maren but still think Colin and Erin top them.
Decent and fair rankings though.

Thanks Saturn for doing this

Surprised by the result. Although Mark and Karen are undoubtedly among the best dancers in season 4, I still maintain they don't hold a candle to any of Zoe and Ian, Colin and Erin and Jill and Darren.

Big cheers for Mark and Karen they were superb together and it was always a pleasure to watch them! Maren seemed to have such a huge presence on the dancefloor and an abundance of chemistry which I don't think any other couple on Strictly has ever had.

If it was about nothing more than technical dancing ability on the part of the celebs, it's entirely possible there'd be a different result (although as a HUGE Maren fan I could harp on for hours about the salsa and the AT amongst others). But it's just a fact that the chemistry of a partnership, the friendship that we watch build up over the weeks and the "fun" factor are always going to play a part too. For that reason, it'd be very difficult for anyone to hold a candle to Maren in my eyes anyway.

I like to see a similar survey next year to see if Mark remains as popular. Evidently going to do well now as series just finished and so lots of fans but I wonder if this will continue as with Darren Gough. Mark is undoubtedly better than Darren, but I think (and would hope) that Jill, Colin and Zoe stand the test of time, as these were far better that Mark any day.

It depends in what way you mean really. I can admire the dancing ability of Jill, Colin and Zoe... but I didn't get excited about watching them dance. I didn't get the same sense of enjoyment from their performances. It doesn't matter whether you ask me now or in a year's time. That won't change.

I'm not saying that you will necessarily think this in a year's time, but I think people probably thought the same about Darren last year i.e. that he brought enjoyment though may be not great dance ability. I've noticed on some of the voting threads and from general discussions here that Darren's popularity has waned somewhat in but a year and that Colin despite being the runner-up has remained in people's favour, or for instance, Jill who was over two years ago now. Mark was certainly a good dancer, but I think in a year's time, these kind of threads might show a different result once the hype dies down. Of course, I could be proved completely wrong - it'll just be interesting to see what happens.
