We were sat at work today, first day back after the Christmas holidays and go to talking about the (dismal) T.V over the festive season.

The talk came round to Emmerdale and "Who Killed Tom King?" when one man told us he`d read somewhere (he can`t remember where) that the character (s) that killed Tom King will get away scott free as another character will be charged for it.
Also he said the trial and the aftermath will be referred to but not seen on screen.
Has anyone else heard anything along these lines?
BTW Happy New Year Everyone

I haven't heard about this, but Emmerdale seems to have a habit of letting killers run free, so it's not too hard to imagine

That would be a huge letdown if that happened.

I hope the rumour isn't true. It would be a huge letdown. Tom's killer not being caught, what's the point? After this massive investigation in Emmerdale and online, they're bound to catch his real killer surely. And if they showed the trial offscreen, that would be a missed opportunity for more high drama and great scenes, i hope this isn't true.

Does anyone think that the writing-out of Scott Windor could tie in with this storyline?

What the work mate said was he`d read that the real killer will be revealed to the viewers however the `framed/wrongly accused` will be sent down for it.
If this is true I would feel `cheated` but as I said before this person can`t remember where he read it.

Ben Freeman is out of the soap and other tv related work whilst he deals with a certain other matter that should not be discussed as it relates to a legal case , if you get my drift. The timing of the King murder is purely coincidental.

I can believe the storyline will end in such a manner. Means it could be ANY of the ten suspects as we haven't heard of any of the cast leaving the show, and obviously (unless they do jail scenes for the next year or so) being banged up for murder kind of puts an end to that character within the show. I have read somewhere that
Spoiler
meaning he's most likely to be framed, then killed in prison, pretty much like the chap from Brookie who was wrongly imprisoned for killing Our Terrys wife and (alleged) son. Could Graysons mum frame her own son to save herself and her new fortune? Would any of the other characters be so nasty they would let someone else take the rap for them? I don't think so. Only Matthew and possibly cowardly Jimmy, but if all this is true then my moneys on the new mrs King. She could then remain in the show and we'd know she's a seriously evil wrongun. I think it'll be a good way to end the storyline and show another side to whoever did the evil deed.

I doubt Matthew would let someone else take the blame for him; and Jimmy; definitely not; he was about to throw himself into prison on a manslaughter charge for something that wasnt really 100 % his fault!!

I still think Rosemary; and I hope whoever did this, goes to prison for it; or all this will have been such a waste of time.

Spoiler

Also; she was going downstairs and outside when Tom was already arguing with his killer so it's impossible.

I'm not surprised i'm not following some of this looooong storyline, it's dragging on and i'm unfortunately losing interest....I also would like something more uplifting to happen now. Perhaps getting rid of a few bores like the Katie/Jo/Andy storyline, that has also be dragggggggging on...what is Andy ON?!....not puns please

If whoever did kill Tom King gets away with murder they can team up with Eric, Louise and Andy...the Getting away with murder club.

Yeah I know that. I was just wondering if the reason for the characters disappearance will be explored on screen.

Either Scott will go away somewhere or the character may be mentioned but not seen for months (I think they did something similar with Sally in Corrie when the actress went on maternity leave once)

I still think Grayson killed Tom...but have you seen the manic, psycho stare Matthew keeps doing lately when he is annoyed? He looks more than capable of popping someone off when he is in a bad mood!

Would that be the constipated frown look, the constipated wild-eyed look, the constipated self-satisfied grin look or the good old original 'just plain constipated' look???
