Bush 6690D TV - DVD problem
Delboy1976

Hello,

I have a Bush 6690D TV but I am only able to view region 1 DVD's in black and white, whereas region 2 DVD's play fine.

Does this mean that the above model is not NTSC compatible?

Does anyone else who owns this model have the same problem and if so are there any ways around it?

Many Thanks.

The above model does not have an RGB enabled scart, which is necessary for watching NTSC videos (If the TV supports it in the first place, I'm not sure if it can). This is because the colour on composite signals is broadcast at a slightly different frequency for NTSC and PAL. I'm not sure of a way around this apart from perhaps an NTSC to PAL converter. But they can be expensive. Maplin sell one but it’s not cheap. Your DVD player may have a PAL60 mode, which you should try first though.

Hi,

There are many ways to watch a colour picture of a region 1 source on a PAL tv even on an old TV

The best way (cheapest is to buy a DVD player that not only palys any region but outputs in pure pAL 50 so you get a full colour picture on your PAL TV even from a NTSC source.

There is one on this page at £75.99

Or you could buy a dedicated converter and the analogue ones start at £29.99 ( not as good a picture but you will get a full colour picture from a stable black and white one) Some of you get rolling black and white pictures, look in section 2 on the same page and you will get a recordable conversion. I know there is a lot of confusion out there, that's why i set these pages up.

email me if you have any problems.
