Unfortunately And Then We Went Fishing has "unavailable" underneath it. I've ordered it from somewhere online (can't recall offhand) and I've not heard anything back yet to say its unavailable, I'll keep you posted!

If we all order his books, he'll get notified that demand in the UK has outstripped supply, and know WE LOVE YOU DIRK!!!

That's great news! I'd go too if I lived there, but I don't!

I'm not surprised the Jacksons are attracted to Devon - it's a great place! If Janet turns up, let me know - I'll be down there straight away!

Must be quite some demand if it's back on their stock list. How marvellous that he has such an impact that it lead to a re-print by the publishers.

Thanks for the link ..... interesting read too judging by the snippets I've seen.

He was the only interesting one most of the time in the CBB house and I could listen to him talk all day. All the truly laugh out loud moments were down to him, he was so humourous. But all the best conversations centered around him too. I wish we could have picked which housemate to listen in on.

I'm pretty sure I saw Dirk in a short interview on the old Liquid News programme and he seemed very outgoing and a bit nuts, but in a good way. He has certainly been a revelation to me so I have to thank CBB for that, although I don't forgive them for their terrible editing of him and for letting the coven get away with all the bitching they did about him. Most people that watched just the h/lights don't know all that went on in the house as regards Dirk and they criminally wasted a brilliant housemate.

They should have two BB's for me, one that caters to people that enjoy confrontation etc and a parallel universe type one where maybe we really could have seen more of Dirk enjoying adult conversations and seen him having much more fun too. ”

I've said before that I honestly believe CBB had set Dirk up to win the show because of his hyped-up entrance in the A-Team van, etc. However, Channel 4/Endemol shot themselves in the foot by not acting to stop the bullying of Shilpa and later Dirk. Had they done this, I doubt Shilpa would have gained the same level of positive public opinion. I should clarify here that I have nothing against Shilpa and don't agree with her treatment by Jade and co, I am merely just saying that had things have been "normal" and no bullying, etc had occurred, I expect Dirk would have stood a better chance of winning.

I am absolutely disgusted by all of the people who went to Branscombe and stole whatever goods they could retrieve. These people should be thoroughly and utterly ashamed of themselves - do they not understand that theft is a crime?!

And the funny thing was he never paid any attention to them except to Shilpa and clearly the other women were jealous especially *cough* psycho Cleo. ”

I think you're right - they turned against him when he wasn't interested in them - and you can't blame him for that - in fact, Dirk should be applauded!

When you have time to mull over things and look back, that is how it looked. So am in total agreememnt with you. Still 3rd is a good place all said and done Better than Carole's and Cleo's placings

Yes, 3rd is still a good place - and moreso when you consider Dirk's "competition". As for Cleo and Carole, their placings are just laughable - but then again, so are they!

I disagree slightly, I do not think C4/Endemol set up Dirk to win the show. The A Team van was probably just because he starred in the A Team. However I do agree that if the coven/Shilpa scenario had not become such big news his chances of winning would have been much much higher as he would have had much more appearances in the C4 highlights programme.

I think Endemol and C4 probably wanted their darling Jade to win, and that's what led to all the attempts to pretend the bullying wasn't happening, and such shameful tactics as the "why Shilpa is to blame for being picked on" edition of BBBB.

But either way it just shows this idiotic idea they have that they can decide who is going to win and manipulate us into making that person the winner. They think they can predict people, both the housemates and us. If they want to write a storyline why don't they create a drama and hire some actors? And leave the BB housemates to interact without the inteference that nearly always backfires anyway!

The unpredictable nature of the show is what I used to watch it for. Seeing relationships developing in real time and having no clue what's going to happen tomorrow was always the fascination for me, but that's been thrown out for the last few years.

You might have a point, but I think that because of the fact he had the A-Team van and theme tune and went in last, he was their "favourite" housemate. I know the van is more a nostalgic memory as such, but Dirk had the biggest and best entrance of ANY housemate I know of.

Admittedly I haven't watched any of the other shows, but as far as I know, the other participants just arrive in a normal car. I also don't believe that Channel 4 really gave Dirk the A-Team van solely because he was in the show, but that's just my opinion.
