hehe, me too! My boyfriend yelled "it's Face!!!" and was really excited, while I racked my brains trying to remember who was in the A-Team and could only dredge up Mr T (I was only about 7 when it was on and remember loving the theme tune, but that's about it).

However... by the time Dirk had been in there for a while OMG! I never in a million years thought I would fancy a 60 year old. He's everything I look for in a man - witty, intelligent, handsome. I think it may have been the ice cube task that opened my eyes

I have now downloaded old A-Team episodes off the internet and am having to make do, although he's a bit too pretty back then. Not liking the blond hair. Needs must however.

Just catching up with the posts!

My own view on whether or not C4/endermol orignally hoped Dirk would win is that they probably wanted him to make the final (good for viewing figures). I tend to agree with the view that Jade was the one they hoped would win, as it would have been good for business had she doen so. That's why, initally, they down-played her negative behaviour in the HL's. Once it became clear that there was no 'saving' her, they pretty much dumped that idea and moved on to Shilpa. They needed Shilpa to win to 'save' the show in a sense.

There are always theories as to who C4's/Endemol's favourites are and I am never convinced that they actually have one at the start of the series. I cannot remember if any other hm has arrived in a similar style but I am sure that if the Hoff went in they would have had the knight rider car for him.

Now, that's where I see the problem. Firstly, Jade is NOT a celebrity in the same way a legend like Dirk or Jermaine is so why was she even there in the first place? Secondly, who invited her family and concocted that stupid servant idea?

Nowadays, reality shows are just aiming for ratings through sensationalism. The Apprentice showed signs of this last year with their lack of a business message (as shown in series 1) and "characters" like Syed who were probably more interested in gaining notoriety rather than the job itself.

The only reason CBB got "good" ratings this year was because of the furore caused by the bullying - and Channel 4/Endemol's inability or reluctance to do anything about it. It's about time they accepted enough is enough and axed the show.

I liked Dirk's look in the A Team, he looked good in his blonde hair but i agree he was a pretty boy back then but stilll bloody gorgeous!!!
I have watched quiet a bit of the A Team episodes recently and i have found them very enjoyable. Along with Face i loved Murdoch too, both were very entertaining characters.

I hear Jonny Wilkinson made a fab comeback yesterday....

I used to live down the road from Twickenham, so I 've been to a game or two there. Cricket is my sport of choice, but I like watching a game of rugby now and then.

I definitely agree that Shilpa had to win for them to save the situation - and themselves - although I think both were (and still are) way beyond this.

He was on form, nice to see him back.

That goes to show he has great taste in women. He didn't give any of the other females apart from Shilpa any attention when they were clearly gagging for it.
Lucky Shilpa, thousands and thousands of women in the UK would have loved to be in here place...

To be honest, they might not have a favourite, but as Muttley said, I'm sure they definitely wanted Dirk to be in the final. As for David Hasselhoff, I agree - I expect KITT (great car) would definitely have made an appearance! However, on that subject, every time I've seen them "together" in recent times, DH has never been driving KITT - and I don't know why!

Did you? So did I, many years ago! Maybe we were neighbours?! Personally, I like both UK and American Football - a bit like Dirk, although I think he likes Basketball too!

Yeah, lived there for about a year, then a year or so in Kingston, in the mid-1990's.

The other women were rather "desperate" - especially Cleo PN Rocos. Not only are there women across the UK who would have loved to be there with Dirk, but a fair few can be found on this thread!

I agree re: Dirk and the final, although I think it would have been interesting if they could have gotten BOTH Dirk Benedict and David Hasselhoff in the house this year!

Hi, I've been lurking on this thread for a couple of weeks now .

Must admit....I also have a huge crush on this man . Didn't really know him before CBB, but now it's getting on my nerves how often he interrupts my day, lol.

Weird thing is, I've now had 12 Dirk dreams and they all lead on from the previous.....very romantic so far. Makes me look forward to going to bed......but quite depressing when I wake up on my own.

I've ordered Confessions of a Kamikaze Cowboy and am waiting for that. It will be interesting reading as I'm already macrobiotic so will enjoy his take on it.

Also just wondered if his first son is mentioned. I know George and Roland are talked about a bit, as he raised them himself. I just haven't heard much about his older son......the one who would be in his late thirties now.

Anyway....nice to meet likeminded people .

I won a hefty sum of money backing a Horse called Gracie's Gift in the summer because I supported Grace...

And lo and behold, I stuck a few quid on a horse called Montana Bay, because of where Dirk lives... and yep it won

I don't think I will be putting any money on the horse called Carry on Cleo though
