No , the first one opened about 6 years before the TV series was made.

Starbuck in the original series was a milder version of A team face. My son tells me Starbuck is a woman in the current remake of Galactica , Ive never watched it myself.

I believe both the coffee people AND Galactica nicked the name from Moby Dick.

But yeah, even though I'm totally in love with the new Starbuck, Dirk is my fave to win this right now.

I love Dirk!

I find myself attracted to him He is quite handsom for his age no?

I think Him and Leo have facinating conversation.

Difference is this year, they mostly have people that are already rich and famous in there own right. And so its not so much wannabe behaviour and more a meeting of minds.

I can't believe Dirk is in there. I've only ever seen the original non celeb BB and then a bit of the original celeb BB - haven't watched any of the others. But I watched last night because there was an article in a newspaper about it and he was mentioned ...

Absolutely gobsmacked! I have all of the original Battlestar Galactica on tape (which is where I first saw him), then followed his career to The A Team (which I also have) and other things in which he appeared.

He has been over to the UK before (one of his recent appearances was at a 'Cult' convention) but I missed that.

Of course he wouldn't be Dirk without the obligatory cigar - He smoked them as 'Starbuck' and then, of course, as 'Face' - I wonder if he was kidding or not about having packed his bag entirely with them? Probably not!

This means I have to watch this year! Dammit ...

My brother remembers Dirk from Battlestar Galactica and is very excited to see him back on t.v...he never watches BB at all, but told me this afternoon he had been watching it most of the day....

I think Dirk is coming across really well thus far from what I've seen....seems like a very likeable guy indeed.
