Coming late, just registered and stopped lurking, so thought I'd just add my name to the Dirk Love Fest thread.

I was a bit dubious about him going on the show, but it's great to see him holding his own when others are already starting to crack. (And with the Goody clan around, who can blame them?)

What a guy! And on such fine form today that I hope we'll see more of him on the hightlights than we have so far.

I enjoyed seeing Dirk put Leo in his place just now, very nicely done - very respectful - fair but firm. Bravo!

Peed off with the Hl show tonight. Dirk talked about his cancer last night to carol which was quite moving. Plus earlier on when Leo made his 'I love you all' speech (which was missed off) he was crying with laughter behind a pillow. I told all my mates to watch it as it was classic and it wasn't even on!

It was all the Goody show...bah.

I watched that conversation and it was very moving, but its obvious BB want to promote the Goody's rather than that connvo as part of the HL show.

I am loving Dirk more and more. he loved doing his task this morning with the coat of arms and is wearying of leo.

Dirk is doing his best to politely let Leo know he should shut up!

He just said to Leo, 'Do you remember the movie Private benjamin, where she went in and hated the clothes and the decor and the fact she was woken at 6am every morning?'

Then leo interupted as always and said, 'you are right..this is like Private Benjamin' and shook his hand.

Anyone who has seen Private benjamin knows it is about a spoilt rich girl who joins the army by mistake, hates it all and moans about everything, yet she signed up for it and embraces it in the end.

So to read between the lines dirk was saying 'Leo shut the F*** up...you signed up for this show, deal with it, they can do what they want!'

All went woooooosh over Leo's head though.

I can handle Jackiey...I know someone very like her, and their heart is in the right place and after a while you do laugh with them and find them endearing. I know that is hard to believe, but it is true!

It was wasn't it. He had it at such a young age as well, quite unusual for that type of cancer. Carole said that as it was so far ago he must have forgotten he had it by now. What planet is she on? I know alot of people who have had cancer...like you ever forget. He still does a healthy diet and everything because of it. Big respect for him, but like you say, it is the Goody show.

My mate just told me how she heard Dirk talking to JJ about his house in Montana and how he never see's anyone from day to day, and is very much a loner, and his son's moan at him, but he is just proud of bringing them up.

Methinks he may have a few ladies after him in GB after this!

This morning he was talking about how he has a mobile phone but never uses it, it's just so he's kids can get hold of him, and that he never answers his phone because he hates them. I'm loving the fact that we are seeing a different side to Dirk than we might have expected too, he definately seems to be more a loner than I would have expected, and much more sweet.

I think your right that he might have a whole new fan club in the Uk to deal with now, though...he is far and away the most appealing man in the house this year!

Someone here yesterday asked if people only liked Dirk because of who he was? I had no idea before CBB who he was.

But he is amiable, funny, laid back, does his tasks (he cleaned the house twice, not many 61 year old guys would do that on TV) and is pure testosterone!

He makes me laugh and that is a huge thing in my book.

Dirk's deconstruction of Leo has been augmented by Leo deconstructing himself... I think Leo will forever lose his tag as being 'Mr Nice Guy'... it lasted for about a day in the House.... maybe he always was a self absorbed chatterbox... come to think of it he was

Dirk's best line was during the first argument when he said that Leo interrupting people could be seen as Leo thinking that he had something better to say, even before he actually heard what they had to say... harsh but true, Dirk?

I've booked my flight...Feb 1st.

He is just so great to watch, and I hope we see a lot more of him on the coverage now. Rather than give ignorant, thick housemates publicity, it would be good to watch a genuine, funny guy.

Dirk is a top bloke just a pity you have to sit through the good show before you get to see the bit you like.

Yes me too! I have been looking at renting out the box sets. Apparently all on amazon!

I literally have not watched one second, but I have skipped over it on the Tv controls guide bit...does anyone know what side do they usually repeat it on? For research purposes of course.

He's never going to get even featured in the highlights because they need all the time for ****ing Jackiey.

It does my head in. Dirk talking about his illness, Dirk's comedy moment with Leo yesterday, which after 12 BB's literally had me crying with laughter, his one liners...(what is the betting the one about Jackies farts doesn't get a mention tonight) none even got a flicker on the HL or 'uncut'.

I know they cannot fit everything in, but they managed to fit Jackie and Jade in for about an hour all told on each show.

It's usually on UK Gold, though I don't know if it's on at the moment or not.

The A-Team's not running on UK Gold right now. Season 1 through 4 are available on DVD (1-3 can be bought as a box set as well as individually). Season 5 comes out in February and that makes the entire series.

Battlestar Galactica is currently running on Bravo. And it's available as a box set with plenty of yummy extras.
