I think some people sit and watch the show just waiting to pick up on one word and then analyse it to the hilt just to create a pointless discussion on a subject which never existed in the first place!

This PC thing has just erupted into complete madness ... people will be too afraid to speak soon

I know! I've just seen the number of replies and the thread is still growing! I really think some people have nothing better to do and post these things about a decent man like Dirk because they want to be the centre of attention instead!

Went and had a gander at the C4 BB Forum and there is no mention over there about Dirk's comment's at all, so it's just this lot getting in a froath about nothing!

I'm black, and take it from me, I get sooooo exasperated with certain people screaming "racist" for things that patently do not belong in that bracket. It detracts from what we really have to fight against.

For me, it's akin to the extremely tiny minority of women who deliberately lie about rape and then reinforce terrible attitudes and stereotypes in the minds of judges and jurors, making it harder for real victims.

The post you are referring to was mine, I'm a Dirk fan, you can check my previous posts, but I was dissapointed in what Dirk said. I don't jump on the P.C. bandwagon, again check my previous posts.

I'm still supporting Dirk, IMO stilll the best HM but still .

At most, only some of what he said was fact.

And it's the sort of fact that lends itself to questionable contexts.

I like Dirk, but I still have to acknowledge that it was the sort of remark other HMs would have neen vilified for.

Why though?. It was Shilpa that was wondering how she was staying in and she herself then asked 'how many Indians were there living here...London?'

I rewatched it to be sure. (I only said 'to be sure' so you knew I'd checked, I wasn't mocking the Irish)

Jermaine said they were crawling all over which sounded a bit iffy but I'm sure he wasn't being racist and then Dirk chimed in with his statistics that he'd read in a paper.

Why is Dirk getting any flak.

Yeah, he and Mr. T have been friends for over 20 years and talk all the time on the phone.

Well, the reality is probably more like Mr. T talks all the time and I'd be surprised if Dirk can get a word in edgewise.

While Science was a good guy, you might have forgotten his complete inability to shut up. Ever.

He'd go on and on and on and on, repeating himself over and over.

Science thought that if a point's worth making once, it's worth making 300 times.

I have to trot out my old argument about patterns here.

Yes, if Jo said it for example, she'd be villified, since she's made several other similar and worse remarks. So there's a pattern.

Dirk says one thing that can be interpreted at least as dodgy by people. But it's only that one thing. Can anyone show any other times he's said anything interpretable as racist? No. So no pattern. Just a passing comment that he might have worded better.

So I think I can safely say Dirk's not going to be joining the Nazi party when he gets out.

Oh don't! We'll only have some troll barging in with Dirk's "I could have lived with Hitler for a week" quote, using that as proof positive that he's a paid-up member.

To be fair to the bloke, he was dealing with Craig, Anthony and Maxwell!...It took 300 times for any valid point to sink into their concrete skulls!
