Ok, output on the skybox and dvd should be set to rgb. Connect the tv to the tv scart socket on the sky box and the dvd recorder to the vcr scart socket on the sky box. Think that should be it.

Thanks for your quick reply.
Does it matter which device is connected via Av1/2 etc? |

IIRC You should only need to connect the Sky plus box to the tv (Via av1) it should pass through the signal from the DVD recorder as required.

In the past people would connect DVD players using the "hidden" passthough mode in Sky digibox's.
With DVD Recoders you have the option of using it's passthrough instead, mainly becuase this offers you the chance or recordign the RGB output from the Sky box and making better recordings. It would appear that the cheap liteons many people are getting from Tesco do not record RGB, so the above advice is moot. |

My dvd is a Liteon HDA470GX if this makes any difference? Should this be able to connect and record through RGB?

Right, just looked up the paecs for this machine: it def has RGB in and out so this should mean passthrough.
Set up should be - Sky TV scart ---> DVDR AV2 (input, set to RGB) DVDR AV1 (output, set to RGB) ---> TV AV1 (the RGB scart) This should give you a grat picture on Sky and DVDs, and also record in RGB. Use your FV tuner while Sky is tied up recording. Rgds, Scorp |
