LONDON (Reuters) - Internet firm Tiscali is hoping to attract half a million users with its revamped TV-over-broadband offering over the next two years and is in talks to show Irish pay-TV firm Setanta's sports content.

So they may get Setanta but that seems like the only thing they will be doing other than concentrating on rolling the service out;

"Over the next year it plans to extend the 65 broadcast and 25 on-demand channels currently offered to former HomeChoice subscribers to its customers in major cities."

Making me thinks we will see no new content in at least the next 12mths if not longer!

Real shame! Still have not changed my mind and will be leaving after 4mths free

Can I ask who you will be moving too. I have been lookin hard at the competition and cant find anyone who comes close to the same service.

Just interested......may help me out! hehe

The only option for me seems to be NTL and the difference comes down to Sky One. The on-demand/catchup was poor and expensive last time I looked. If Tiscali are to knock the line rental charge then the price difference will be massive in their favour.

So, bennat, who are moving to to get a better product and cheaper because I can't find anything better value.

Personally I moved from HC to Freeview and bought a PVR, as all I really missed from HC was the replay function. I think Bennat, that you are after more channels though, so while being low cost, is not the right option for you.

For me, living in a flat in London that is not covered by Telewest and wont allow satellite dishes, HC was/is the only way to access Sky Sports.

Whilst id jump at the chance to get HD content if i could (id be prepared to pay the premium for it), thats not an option. If HC/tiscali do eventually offer HD content then great, but until i move flats they are still the only option to get SS.

Setanta would actually be a great addition IMO. Ive been emailing NASN for months trying to get them to offer their channel on HC, so assuming Setanta would offer it as they do on Sky and telewest, id be happy.

Dont get me wrong, for pure tv, i dont actually like HC. I use my freeview PVR 90% of the time, and only HC for the sport. But for people in my situation, HC still serves a purpose.

I also noticed that Paramount will have replay added.

Where did you see that? I have seen they've signed a VOD deal with BT Vision but have not seen anything in relation to homechoice.

Can't find the link. It was a remark by a Tiscali spoke person last week, who listed it along with BBC etc. as having replay. Assume it was Bull****
