I thought Talk To Me beat How We Built Britain that night. Only by 200,000 viewers or something but I'm sure it still beat it.

Well she did mention they were doing a chatshow but I can't remember if she said what channel it would be on.

But I don't take anything she says as gospel, she was on the Paul O'Grady show again a few weeks back and she said that her show in America had 600 million viewers.

But in all fairness Peter and Katie are very popular on ITV2. I can't think why but they are so I can't blame ITV for sniffing round them like flies around shit - hmm a rather apt analogy there me thinks.

Katie is a bit dense but that's why I kind of like her.

There's something endearing about her.

I can't stand Peter though and he lets her walk all over him.

Yes it is and hopefully for good. To be honest it;s form has been of very high quality for months but people are finally realising it.

Sad to see that only the only ratings bankers are northern creations from years ago

Corrie
Emmerdale
Heartbeat

And of those 6.5 hours, 4 hours are made by Yorkshire.

I wish that Talk to Me would get better ratings. It is very good!!!

Weather like October - ratings like October!

A real boost for EE, but I still don't think it will hit 10m viewers again - unless it reinvents itself.

The BBC seem to be going all out on promoting it at the moment which IMO is the wrong approach to take. Instead I would strongly consider ditching the omnibus edition on Sundays to see if boosted ratings for the shows during the week. They could always bring it back if it didn't provide a significant increase. But I'm pretty sure it would and EE would be getting audiences of 10m+ again.

But we don't really want the BBC behaving like certain other broadcasters do we?

In what sense? Surely ditching repeats and boosting ratings can only be good things whether it's the sort of thing other broadcasters would do or not?

Well, using EastEnders as an example, should the BBC be concentrating on a ratings battle against ITV just for the sake of it? If EE drops in the ratings then they surely should look at the quality of the programme and deal with that, which I think they have. Messing about with repeats/omnibus's is just playing with schedules rather than quality.

The Sunday Omnibus is quite popular and they wouldn't be providing a public service if they just dropped it for the sake of their weekday ratings.

Think it only dropped 3% on audience share though so it held up fairly well. What happens next week will be the all-important trend indicator.

Eastenders can easily hit 10 million again , i do agree that a ratings battle with ITV1 is pointless because most of BBC's programmes easily beat them. Eastenders has concentrated on quality and they have done a really good job of it , it is once again a very enjoyable drama and is loved by the public.

Thanks, that really surprises me, expected much less. Is Holby City returning next week to Tuesdays? If so I suspect the ratings for No Place Like Home? to dip somewhat. That doesn't mean that I don't like it, I will watch it over HC anyway.
