Blimey

Deadenders is getting the crap kicked out of it by Emmerdale....lolol.

And they say ITV is in the ratings wilderness...????

Looks to me like the BBC is doing even worse.

Is TV becoming obsolete?

No. BBC1's share of viewing for this year so far is actually higher than at the same point last year - which is pretty incredible for a mass audience channel considering the growth of digital.

EastEnders still gets fantastic ratings, but dont forget Emmerdale's average is from 7-8pm, if you saw the average for the second half it would probably be lower than EE as a lot of people would of turned over. Once repeats are added on EE will be close to 10 million for that episode.

Emmerdale beat EastEnders when the two soaps were head to head from 7.30pm last night.

No its not, their ratings were virtually identical between 7.30 and 8. This happens every single time - which is why ITV do it, but it has no impact long-term. EE will be back with 10 million plus on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Rumour has it that BBC 1 are moving Eastenders to 10pm next Thursday to try and kill Benidorm . The 10pm news will be rescheduled to BBC2 at 3.20pm

I don't think Benidorm will see the heights of 5.3m again for the rest of its run. It was patchy at best so can't see it being a hit. I imagine it will settle around 3-3.5m and beaten by the 10 o'clock News. I don't think it needs EastEnders to kill it off.

I think the BBC should fight ITV1's childish behaviour with fire. If ITV1 attacks Tuesday's EastEnders, BBC1 should merge together Mon/Tues episodes and run a one hour episode on Monday at 8pm; if they attack Thursday, then move Thursday's to Friday and merge the Friday/Monday episodes together and show at 8pm on Monday.

ITV1 will stop being a baby when Coronation St is only getting 7m viewers.

It's a sorry sight to see a once mighty broadcaster like ITV1 being so devoid of stuff viewers want to watch that to cling on to share it has to resort to one hour Emmerdales and running Coro St on past 8pm when EastEnders is on so viewers miss BBC1's programme trails and the start of EastEnders each time.

In the past, it would have come up with some interesting and innovative programming.

I agree with you, RobbieSykes123.

The BBC should start to play with fire with ITV, as remember ITV needs us, the viewerrs to tune in to their programs, the BBC don't really need ratings as their are funded by our TV Licence!

ITV's games is only affecting us, (the viewers.)

Harry Hill's ratings figures continue to rise. Last week he got 5.3m (25%). The week before he got 5.6m (29%)

Pokerface started out with 5.1m before dropping to 4.8m last week, so the 6.1m this week is a bit of a surprise.

Al Murray continues to be stuck at the 2 and a half million mark though which is sad as it's a good show.

Well Pokerface wasn't up against Casualty so that would be why. Next week it'll be down again. Disappointing results for When Will I Be Famous?, but it wasn't very heavily trailed at all. It only runs for 4 weeks though. If that sort of show isn't popular then Britain's Got Talent should be worried.

I think the problem with When Will I Be Famous? is its execution which is laughably bad. On talents shows it is the delivery of the overall package not just the contestants that is key. It reeks of being a spoiler show.

Anyway well done Harry Hill again. His success is well deserved and long overdue.

No but I could probably guess them.
I think Ugly Betty will get about 3m in the absence of BB's support.

I think the die is cast for the next couple of months. DOI, although I think slightly down on last year is maintaining its dominance for the main show. The BBC-which was the first to have a go at the ice skating format with a one-off a couple of years back-has not found an effective response. The Weakest Link could not be more aptly named and "When Will I be Famous" has a distinct seventies feel to it without the seventies style ratings.Strictly Dance Fever was much better.Primeval starts soon with everything going for it. Having said all that BBC is still ahead on all hours share so I guess its damage limitation when the opposition have powerful schedules.
One thing that does surprise me is that Casualty lost a million on last week despite having one of its best running storylines.Maybe its the shifting timeslot.
