Harry deserves those ratings, the show is hilarious, and this is speaking from someone who has NEVER found Harry Hill funny

Up against DOI results show. I expect 1M had sky+ etc. set to record. I certainly did as I agree it is back on form again.

Re: Harry Hill. Have not been a fan but caught it last night following rave reviews from friends. Great show for this slot.

How do People think BBC's new drama Rough Diamond will do aginst ITV's Wild at Heart ? I reckon Rough Diamond 5.7m and Wild at Heart 7.0m
The Spring looks good for BBC1 with a news series of Life on Mars , Hotel Babylon , Hustle , My Family , The Apprentice , Doctor Who and more

Rough Diamond vs. Wild At Heart ... I think the latter will win.

From reviews I've read, Rough Diamond appears to be as dull and bland as Wild At Heart. The type of people who watch dreary shows like this (coffin dodgers, people in comas) will stick with what they know. Heartbeat, The Royal, Where The Heart Is...they're used to ITV1 giving them their weekly dose of crap at 8:00pm on a Sunday.

i too never liked him before this Show.

the show is so good because its exactly what is needed today IMO a lighthearted 'mickey take' of shows which take themselves far too seriously (such as Eastenders)

The Saturday ratings show the BBC may have made a mistake by running a Shrek repeat against DoI/Primeval next week. 1v100 seems to be pulling in a loyal audience of 6-7m every week (probably why it was so quickly rushed back on screen) and would have done more to dent Primeval's debut than Shrek will do. They should have kept it in its usual slot.

Good to see Harry Hill doing well - shame ITV1 lost its nerve from scheduling at prime time after the disappointing ratings for the Christmas special at 7.30pm.

I watched Al Murray for the first time on Friday night (repeat) and again last night. It's very good - shame nobody is watching it. Something on ITV1 making me laugh and entertaining me - I think I need a lie down...

Tonight:

BBC1:

7.35 News 4.5m
8.00 Rough Diamond - 4m
9.00 WTD 7.2m

BBC2:

8.00 TG 5m

ITV1:

7.00 Emmerdale 9m
7.30 Coro St 11m
8.00 Wild at Heart 7.7m
9.00 Trial and Retribution 5.3m

How on earth did BBC1 manage to be the only channel up on last year without Life on Mars or Hotel Babylon?

Lillies has hardly been a massive hit. Must be Waking the Dead and Judge John Deeds thats done it.

Or maybe their daytime schedule. Breakfast and MI High are doing extremely well just now to mention two.

Supriesed about C4, especially considering the recent CBB-race row. Though it would be much higher.

Well Sky One had a 1.6% share for Sunday - pretty good for them, but it was behind ITV2 with 1.7%.

ITV2 is on freeview as well isn't it, so it has a bigger potential audience.

It's good to see top gears ratings, I wonder if any of the people watching for the crash became hooked on it?

Stunning.

During the last series, there was an argument for shifting it to BBC1, given how it regularly outperformed BBC1's tame 8pm offerings. If it can sustain 6m+, then that case becomes unanswerable, doesn't it?

This is the worst possible news for the anti-car mafia that wants to see Top Gear banned. And that makes me very happy!

Well there's definetly a case for it to move to BBC1 - and shows with ratings like that usually make the move. However i don't think it will.

For a start it's a very long running show and ratings fluctuate over the years. It's having a great time now, but in a few years, JC, JM and RH might have all left and ratings could of slumped. So in that respect it's not like Who Do You Think You Are? and The Apprentice which have a limited lifespan anyway.

I would say it's also too important for BBC2 to lose. It dosen't have many big rating shows, and especially shows that attract a young audience so it's very important to them.
It also feels like quite a BBC2 show if that makes sense.

BBC1 should be making their own hits instead of cherry picking BBC2's shows. There is an argument that shows crossing to BBC1 means that BBC2 constantly needs to innovate; but when all of the shows disappear and BBC2 has nothing to replace it that's a problem for th channel. Radio 4 had a similar problem when so many of their comedy shows crossed to TV like Whose Line Is It Anyway to Channel 4, On The Air (which became The Day Today) and Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge, both going to BBC2.

Top Gear needs to stay exactly where it is and BBC1 needs to try harder.
